Quantum Computing
Could someone explain to me how Quantum Computers are supposed to work? I have heard of them and read a couple articles on them but still have no clue. Thanks in advance.

Re: Quantum Computing
You want the reader's digest version, or the longwinded version?Straha wrote:Could someone explain to me how Quantum Computers are supposed to work? I have heard of them and read a couple articles on them but still have no clue. Thanks in advance.
The reader's digest version is this:
In normal computers, a bit is a Binary Digit, either 1 or 0 (on or off, that sort of thing). In Quantum Computing, a qubit (quantum bit) is capable of being both on and off at the same time. This means that while a normal computer would be trying potentially thousand of passes to solve, a Quantum Computer could do the same job in just a few passes (sometimes even just one).
The longer version takes a considerable amount of time and text to explain, but google should be able to help in that regard.
Do not meddle in the affairs of insomniacs, for they are cranky and can do things to you while you sleep.

I think I got that down, lets go to the more advance explanation.Hotfoot wrote:You want the reader's digest version, or the longwinded version?Straha wrote:Could someone explain to me how Quantum Computers are supposed to work?
