Tom Cruise is... Captain Pike, lol

Post by Calrissian »

:o OMG !

Can this be true ?

see:DS Story

Tom Cruise is going to do his pal JJ a favour, and is rumoured will soon cameo as Capt. Pike.

Is this really the deathknell of the ST Franchise, now that the Cruise is seemingly going to get involved ? Or maybe the reverse, might his 'star presence' bring in a flood of non-ST fans to the theatres ?

Capt. Pike: "....Enson Chekov......set course for Xenu, warp 3 !"

According to TrekMovie, the rumor has been denied.

If it's only a Cameo... sure why not?

I for one always did think of Pike as a midget.

Nah, Cruise is actually a good actor. He's clinically nuts, but the man is talented.

That's what I said. Good guy to work with, but nuttier than a squirell's turd.

I'm sorry, but as much of a loon as Cruise has morphed into, when was the last time he was attached to, or in a movie that wasn't good and did not do well at the box office? Seriously. I can not think of one.

Good thing it's an unfounded rumour, then.

MI2 was so shitty that I could not bring myself to watch MI3.

Be glad, because MI2 was fucking awesome compared to the shit that was MI3. I still question the friend who paid for my ticket.

I saw it, mainly just for Philip Seymour Hoffman.

I'm still finding it a little creepy that they cast a woman who looks an awful lot like Katie Holems to be Cruise's characters wife...

I haven't seen either of those. Are they that bad?
They did do well at the box office though... MI2 made $215,409,889
MI3 made $134,029,801. Both domestic figures

Granted, 3 did slide a lot. Apparently quite few people felt like you did.
