Check me out

So, lets all join forces. DEFCON games can be organised far better this way.

I have joined, clunky, you can't join a group from within Steam but have to exit and go via browsers and log in on their website. Not the best it seems.

Considering that its a goddamn free beta giving way more options than the high cost, broken service that Live! is meant to be giving us - and without forcing Vista down your throat?

I'll accept clunky for the time being.

I've also been adding all my game shortcuts to Steam, so I can get registered play time on them.

Weemadando, I've ton a shit-ton of Beta's, even as I was making my observation I fired off an email to Steam Community response page noting the issue, and got a nice email back say it's a bug and should be fixed in the update.

I'm not jumping on steam here, noting that requiring to use a web browser(Rather than say the existing ingame browser) is clunky at best.

Also giving a heads up to any joining after me that for now, you have to use a web-browser to log into the Steam community, then join, rather than being able to do it within steam itself.

Is this something I'll be forced to pay for eventually if I join or does steam plan on keeping this free of charge?

As it's free, I play DoD, Cod2 and Titan quest, but with uni coming up, I'm going to disappear for a bit.

I've scheduled a DEFCON event for this weekend. Not sure what timecode Steam Community uses, but I'm flexible.

I've removed Steam Community for the time being, since it's a CPU usage spiking piece of crap. If they fix it up, I'll reinstall, but otherwise, it's not worth the FPS spikes it keeps causing.

I've got a demo version of Defcon, which I think is limited in what it can do, but still multiplayer capable.
