There's an extra, non-obvious step you have to take to get the new TQ install to recognize the characters, but it was definitely possible. I dunno about IT.
I think this is what I originally read.
So, if you have multiple TQ copies, I think you're fucked, but it'll work if you're just upgrading your computer, it should work.
If you're just upgrading your computer, you can simply copy the entire
My Documents\My Games\Titan Quest subdirectory. I back that up as part of my periodic backup routine.

There might still be a way to do that. I haven't investigated that much since I already have my vast store of goodies. Let me get back to you on that.
You were right about that Imperial Armor set- the Bracers just dropped for me, and it was amazing how high my lethality for Dual Wield went up just from the single point skill increase.

It's mystifying why they made the unique item drop probability so low, when the unique items are one of the coolest parts of the game. I still remember how jazzed I was to finally complete the Tartarus set, which is unholy cool.
Does Epic Typhon do anything new compared to normal Typhon? It's amazing how easy he is to kill when you get the pattern down.
No, he does the same things. They just cause more damage at the higher levels. In fact, at Legendary level, the Telkine at the end of the Oriental campaign is actually tougher than the Typhon that follows him, because he spawns demons that have pretty high hitpoints and damage levels, so you can't ignore them any more. But his deathray does
four thousand damage, so you can't afford to let him hit you even once while you're fighting his demon spawn.
Also, some other monsters show up at the higher levels. In Legendary level, you actually fight the Hydra in the swamps before you get to Athens. There's also the Manticore somewhere in Egypt; he's a real son of a bitch to kill.
PS. Warning: if you do the Immortal Throne campaign, you'll have to fight Typhon
again. After all, the IT campaign takes place in the underworld, and guess where Typhon went when he died. But this time, he's only the prelude to the real boss.
