Haha! Classic Kirby! That item's from the original Kirby's Dream Land.

Also, is Diddy Kong farting a fireball?

No. Rather, he is laying into Yoshi's balls with a flaming bicycle kick.
What is Project Zohar?

Two updates today: SNES Andross as an assist trophy, and an explanation of special moves that also unveil all of Metaknight's special moves.

Image

Andross fires at the stage

Image

Metaknight's neutral B move: Mach Tornado

Image

Over B: Triple Dash

Image

Up B: Shuttle Loop

Image

Down B: Dimensional Cape (dodges attacks, as seen in the trailer)

Good stuff on the whole. Andross looks (really) weird, but Metaknight info is always good. He could be an interesting alt, but I'm thinking I might stick with Link if Nintendo can up his speed a little.

Today, some of Red(Pokemon Trainer)'s special moves:
The Pokémon Trainer commands three types of Pokémon. His down special move is a Pokémon Change, so each Pokémon has three special moves!

That’s nine in all. Amazing!

<Squirtle Up Special Move: Waterfall>

screenshot

Squirtle splashes up the water torrent.

<Squirtle Side Special Move: Withdraw>

screenshot

Is this the turtle’s so-called shell? It slides along the ground.

<Ivysaur Standard Special Move: Bullet Seed>

screenshot

It fires a rapid seed barrage straight up in the air!

<Ivysaur Up Special Move: Vine Whip>

screenshot

It can grab the edge with its whip! That was TOO close!

<Charizard Standard Special Move: Flamethrower>

screenshot

We just had to have this. It is Charizard, after all.

<Charizard Side Special Move: Rock Smash>

screenshot

It smashes rocks with its head. Bam! A solid hit from this delivers a mighty blow!!

Supplement your shortcomings and take advantage of your strengths. You must cooperate to push on!

Wait, Metaknight can jump five times, glide, AND up-and-B?

He's going to be unkillable.

I seem to remember it know that you've mentioned it. Cool.

I'm hoping the Metaknight will secure Link's endurance so I'll be decent with him, and this update makes it look all the better.

Now this is a Smash Bros. stage!
In the WarioWare games, you must master a variety of microgames in 5 seconds, making them the fastest and shortest games ever. You might want to look into it in more detail.

In trying to recreate that atmosphere in Smash Bros. Brawl, we’ve created an outrageous stage!

screenshot

Stay dry!

screenshot

Dodge!

screenshot

Jump!

Wh-what the heck is this? What is going on? What kind of joke is this?

For each challenge you clear, there is, of course, a reward.

screenshot

The typical screen looks like this.

Ah, what floor would you like, Smash?

It'll be interesting to see how that works out. Hopefully you don't wind up fighting the stage more than your opponents.

Warioware and Rumble Falls have given me hope for the new stages.

Here's todays update a nice video.
Pit’s Descent

The invasion by the Subspace Army has engulfed terra firma in chaos. One angel watching the scene from the heavens receives an imperial order from the goddess Palutena and embarks on a journey.

That video only reaffirmed my belief that Pit needs a different theme.

Not so much a different theme, just a different rendition of the KI theme that isn't so bright.

Diddy Kong: Special Moves

For some reason, Diddy has a weapon made of wood. Is that jungle technology?

<Standard Special Move: Peanut Popgun>

screenshot

It’s a peanut shooter!

This is Diddy’s projectile weapon. You can boost the speed of your shots by holding down the button...

screenshot

But if you hold it down too long, the gun explodes, so be careful.

Also, if the shell breaks and a peanut pops out, you can apparently eat the peanut.

screenshot

You recover a little damage when you eat it. Is this for real?

<Up Special Move: Rocketbarrel Boost>

screenshot

It’s a double-barreled jet engine!

If you charge this up before using it, your jump power increases. And if you tilt the Control Stick left or right while charging it up...

screenshot

You can even curve your flight path!

If you get attacked while riding your Rocketbarrel Blast, you’ll lose your barrels...and they can sometimes go flying away on their own.

screenshot

Danger! Danger!
I just hope his forward-special move is a cartwheel, DKC2 style.

Well, the profile was essentially ceremonial since we already know more about him than we do any other character in the game except Link.

Literally. We know all four of his special moves (more than any other character unless you count knowing three for each of Pokemon Trainer's pokemon,) we know he can quintuple jump, we know he can glide, and we know he has a special combo. We just need his Final Smash and grab and the circle will be complete.

Also, I hope they make Miis characters. Abraham Lincoln for Brawl!

EDIT: The screenshots and the trailer seem to be showing a lot of Meta Knight versus Pit. Maybe they'll be antagonists in SSE?

Double Update time. Mario gets FLUDD from Super Mario Sunshine, and the Pokemon Stadium is back.
The previous game, Super Smash Bros. Melee, featured Pokémon Stadium, but it’s been upgraded for this game into Pokémon Stadium 2.

This time around, you’ll see guest Pokémon appearing in the background.

screenshot

Ordinarily, it’s a fairly orthodox stage when nothing special is happening.

But as time passes, the terrain transforms into four different types:
"Electric," "Ground," "Flying," and "Ice."

screenshot

When it transforms into Ice, things get extremely slippery!

screenshot

A mountain of earth appears in the middle of the screen for the Ground stage!

screenshot

On the Flying stage, everyone’s jump abilities get boosted!

For these four transformations, we’ve chosen types that were not present in Melee.

Terrain that changes suddenly makes fights excitingly unpredictable.
I wonder if that means the original Pokemon Stadium will be an unlockable stage.
<Down Special Move: F.L.U.D.D.>

It appears Mario has a new special move! It’s F.L.U.D.D.

screenshot

He really is carrying F.L.U.D.D. on his back!

screenshot

Tilt the Control Stick down and press the B Button to charge up...

screenshot

Hose ‘em down! Blast those enemies away.

It does absolutely no damage—it’s just for sending opponents great distances. You can even charge it up while shielding. It’s best used in critical moments.

Huh? What happened to the down special move he’s had up until now—the Mario Tornado?

screenshot

He still seems to have this move, though.
Eh? Is it a normal attack?!
It does no damage, but if you've hurt them enough, it may not matter.

I'm guessing that Meta Knight will be lighter to compensate for his insane recovery. Or at least, hoping. There definitely seems to be focus on aerial battle this time around.

I remember in one of the trailers that the Mario Tornado was combined with his drill kick.

Three music-related updates today. The main Smash Brawl theme (composition supervisor: Nobuo Uematsu) we've already heard, a Pokemon Stadium track, and a new feature called "My Music" that lets you adjust how frequently a track will appear on a given stage.

The "My Music" feature confirms several additional tracks we haven't heard yet. The Zelda bridge level we've seen so far has at 4 tracks ("Title (The Legend of Zelda)," "Main Theme (The Legend of Zelda)," "The Dark World", and "The Hidden Mountain & Forests") plus a scroll arrow indicating more tracks are available.

It looks like each level will have quite a number of tracks available to play.
Later...
