Q also said that the federation was nothing more than barbarous and needed anihilation to save the rest of the galaxy from it. Q says a lot of things and is known on something like 100 planets mostly as the god of lies (from the episode where he brings that woman back that he took on a jaunt through the galaxy).
I wouldnt rely on Q any Q.

To be honest, in any Empire vs Federation war, the Empire has just as much chance of counting on Q's assistance as the Federation does.

I'd argue for a better chance. It's fairly well known that Q beleives the Feddies to be too complacent and in need of a good kick in the pants.Darth Wong wrote:To be honest, in any Empire vs Federation war, the Empire has just as much chance of counting on Q's assistance as the Federation does.
Well, I would think an Imperial officer's size thirteen boot would probably be exactly what he was looking for.

He does seem to have a weird affinity towards Starfleet Captains and their morality though.Darth Wong wrote:To be honest, in any Empire vs Federation war, the Empire has just as much chance of counting on Q's assistance as the Federation does.
I'm not sure how well he would recieve a personality such as Tarkin or Vader.

Yeah, he has a weird fascination with seeing them put to a severe test. They're more like beloved lab rats than friends to him. He'd probably very much enjoy the idea of them being forced to join the Empire or be subservient to it.havokeff wrote:He does seem to have a weird affinity towards Starfleet Captains and their morality though.Darth Wong wrote:To be honest, in any Empire vs Federation war, the Empire has just as much chance of counting on Q's assistance as the Federation does.

As for people invoking Q for this, I think he's nearly irrelevant. He's the type that would watch and giggle as the whole galaxy is set ablaze.
There are no incidents that I can recall (evidence to the contrary welcome) where Q intervened through the kindness of his heart to save the Federation, or even just the Enterprise, really.
I suppose how he snapped his fingers and had the Enterprise fly far, far away from the first Borg cube they encountered, but then again, he did bring them there in the first place.

I'm starting to wonder if we should split most of this thread, because almost all of the discussion is just us sitting around ruminating on what this person might say if he could be bothered to make a real argument.

There was the one time when The Continuim made Q human. On that occasion he had the heart to save the Enterprise, but his moral compass had been drastically changed by being mortal and subject to human emotions.rhoenix wrote:As for people invoking Q for this, I think he's nearly irrelevant. I don't think it got drastically changed as much as he realized if he fucks up again then he'll get stripped of power.havokeff wrote: There was the one time when The Continuim made Q human. I was actually thinking of SSFPhoenix, he's posted almost the exact same thing with regard to weapon ranges in ST vs those in SW (refuted of course), and it looks like he signed up for ST.com the same time as he showed up herechitoryu12 wrote:I don't think so. As for this troll, I'm almost certain it's the same guy who signed onto Startrek.com. Though he's under a different name, he's posted in two vs threads using the same so-called style he's using here:

He was already striped of his power. It wasn't until he made the self sacrafice, which he didn't even realize that he had, of leaving in the shuttle to save the D crew that Corbin "Q" Bernson came and restored his power. If IIRC the Qs didn't think he had it in him and had basically written him off.General Zod wrote:I don't think it got drastically changed as much as he realized if he fucks up again then he'll get stripped of power.havokeff wrote: There was the one time when The Continuim made Q human. After reading what I could of that thread, I feel sorry for Servo, having to put up with that idiocy. Should I register there and attempt to help smack Jay down? The guy makes Ryan over at SB look like a bastion of well thought out points.chitoryu12 wrote:I don't think so. Jay has actually managed to do the quotes properly without anyone asking. Don't bother. Jay has his head stuck so far up his ass any smackdown you give him won't do anything.Aratech wrote:After reading what I could of that thread, I feel sorry for Servo, having to put up with that idiocy. Dude, Jay has 99% of everyone in the thread against him, yet when a newbie wandered in and asked what was happening he said that the Warsies "Were against the ropes with a broken nose and both eyes swollen shut".After reading what I could of that thread, I feel sorry for Servo, having to put up with that idiocy. I haven't managed to comb through all ninety odd pages of crap yet, but when next he responds, can someone pass this message: what is he smoking, and where might I acquire some.

Believe me, he's hopeless. Every insult you use is turned on you to show that the Warsies are "pathetic flamers like Jared Servo". The only reason I'm still participating in that thread is because I think he's funny.Aratech wrote:chitoryu12 wrote: Dude, Jay has 99% of everyone in the thread against him, yet when a newbie wandered in and asked what was happening he said that the Warsies "Were against the ropes with a broken nose and both eyes swollen shut".

If you don't feel like going through 90-odd pages of that, you might want to check this out: http://bbs.stardestroyer.net/viewtopic.php?t=110302, which was started precisely because of all the stupid stuff that Jay's been coming out with. The only difference between how he used to argue say, a year ago and now is that he knows some of the Star Wars EU to try and help his case

I sleep with jessica alba every night - you can't prove I don't so it must be true right? no there must be evidence and unfortunately there is no evidence for MOTIVATION, just what he did.Isn't that a hasty generalization fallacy? Because Q is known to lie about some things, you categorically dismiss anything he says?
