You know what is the funny thing HSRTG?

Thanks to your comments mostly, the entire site are being viewed as well...elitist assholes...meaning everyone here hates the short.

I quite liked it, could have used an establishing shot is all.

To be fair, most other communities I've seen regarded this site as Elitist prior to this incident, the exception thought that Darth Wong was the anti-christ.

Wait, what? Thanks to my comments, everyone here hates the short, or another site views this entire site as elitist assholes, because of one user's comments?

Clarify?

He's talking about SB.com's thread on the subject.
'Ai! ai!' wailed Legolas. 'A Balrog! A Balrog is come!'
Gimli stared with wide eyes. 'Durin's Bane!' he cried, and letting his axe fall he covered his face.
'A Balrog,' muttered Gandalf. 'Now I understand.' He faltered and leaned heavily on his staff. 'What an evil fortune! And I am already weary.'

This is not a teaser trailer for the movie. It's part of a completely separate low-budget series to secure funding for the movie, and I think it's going to succeed.

I thought the close-up shaky battles really captured the feeling of close-combat intensity that I experienced as a Halo player. Though wider, and longer, shots would be better.

All in all, pretty good!

Then they shouldn't have had constant Banshee strafing runs. Or they should have given the Pelican some point defenses. Or they should have had the Pelican shot down, and the Warthog extracted from its burning remains. "Oh, look, it's LIVE ACTION Halo" doesn't last long under the massive number of flaws this has. It lasted, for me, about five seconds. And then my brain engaged.
Jesus christ, seriously, will you shut the fuck up already? What the hell do you think this is, the fucking Cannes film festival? IT'S A LIVE ACTION SHORT!

So what if it's not got perfect writing, it's a couple minutes long!

Right, because 2 hours of the Chief and no one else wouldn't be monotonous at all, and would be entirely original, because no one has EVER made a film concentrating on a single action hero. It's
refreshingly original that minor game characters are shown in action in this way.

Decided to put this here since it's relavent.

The first of the new 'Believe' ad series was released tonight and it's an interesting change in strategy. The commercial is titled Museum and depicts a former UNSC marine recalling a battle while standing in front of a diorama of it in a museum:

I quite like that one. It feels somewhat incomplete, but its still a refreshing change of pace from the action-oriented nature of the last set of ads.

Still, it is a spoiler; for all we knew before, Halo 3 really could have been "how the world ends". :P

Good point. I suppose the destruction of Earth might not mean the extinction of humanity in this particular setting, even if the UNSC's supply of colony worlds is rather limited by the time of Halo 3.

I have to say, I liked the making of the monument video, it was a nice touch. And I would love to have that diorama.

Yahoo exclusive full-length version of the "Believe" advertisement.

The miniature set that is pictured in the ad is enormous. Apparently it's something like 1200 square feet, and all the figures stand eight to thirteen inches tall.

I see 15, 30, and 60 second flavors of the ad on Xbox.com.

I don't see the 90 second version listed.

Whoooooooops.

I never thought I would say this about anything like this...like an ad for a video game...

But I have tears in my eyes after watching those videos.

As do I. I've never felt that way over a video game before, Microsoft and Bungie really went all out on this.

I went through the entire museum, looking at the first person testimonials, and when I saw the final video there the final realization that this was actually making me feel sad. Not bad for a bunch of toy soldiers. I also like the fact that we're seeing the men and women who fought along with Master Chief, and not just an MC wankfest.

It's beautiful. Just the panning shots of the camera...like an actual battlefield.

I've liked all of the "museum" stuff so far. It's pretentious, it's kind of slow, but... i'll be damned if it isn't emotional. It's nice to see that Bungie is CLEARLY puting a lot of effort in Halo 3's SP this time.
Best care anywhere.
