It did both. "Conflicting emotional resonance registered. Willpower overriding Fear.", followed by, "Previous exposure to Green Lantern Power Ring Detected." "Target Sentient rejected."
Back just before the OYL jump, there was a plot with a new Tattooed Man that involved Hal letting Bruce put on the ring and creating a construct of his parents, so that would also explain the detection of Green Lantern energy.

Are you talking about Bruce and Hal's ring, or Sinestro's? I seem to remember that Hal offered to give the ring to Bruce, but Bruce refused to let it show him his parents. That was the issue where they reconciled, wasn't it?Steve wrote:Well, he was fighting it, but the ring is the one that decided to vamoose.Molyneux wrote:Didn't Bruce turn down the offer, though? Talking about Sinestro's, and in the end Bruce did use Hal's ring briefly.Molyneux wrote:Are you talking about Bruce and Hal's ring, or Sinestro's? That's an interesting question. I s ir enough to have the ring somewhere about your body or do you actually have to wear it on your finger? I THINK it is the latter and that's the way it generally isbut offhand I can't recall any source actually saying you MUST wear it on your finger to wield it.

Wasn't there a sentient planet that was in the GL Corps? I'm assuming it was using a stalactite.

I know that some of the alien GLs wear it in odd ways. Pre-Crisis there was even a living planet who was a green lanturn, with crystaline trees making out the shape of the green lanturn symbol, visible only from space.

The GL in question is Mogo, the Living Planet; I don't know about crystalline trees, but he does have a band of vegetation around his equator which forms an immense Green Lantern symbol. He is without a doubt the single most powerful Green Lantern, but also by far the least mobile.

Actually the most powerful, and most mobile was the Daxamite GL that had taken Lar Gann's syrum and was thus immune to lead, had a yellow star booth in his space craft, and pumped iron (or was that neutron stars)
he appeared in one "Tales of the GLC", (and was a GL from the same time as the legion of superheroes)

depends there are some left in the Legion of Superheroes era. Lar Gann being one of them.
of course said GL in the 30th century was also a pet project of Brainaic V, so god knows how dangerous he was.
I only know about him, as a comic fan I knew in college showed me the issue and said "Want to see the biggest Munchkin in DC comics"

That's the thing, a Green Lantern ring gives Lucifer nothing and makes him part of an organization, something he would abhor.DEATH wrote:Interesting idea, although Lucifer is probably the nastiest imaginable wielder for a Green lantern in all of fiction. (Although then again, he doesn't need it, and probably invented it)
Mazikeen probably would not join the Green Lantern Corps because there is nothing really in it for her. But she would be insanely powerful, I would think, because of her near insane focus.
What would Bigby or Frau Totenkinder gain from the ring? Bigby is a demi-god and Frau Totenkinder is one of the most powerful Fables in existence. Snow White, however, has the will and the drive and the personality that I would look for in a Green Lantern.I'd actually prefer Bigby Wolf (Who'd probably be even better with a Yellow ring considering his past exploits) or The Old Witch.

True enough. Frankly, I'm surprised that Mazikeen survived all the way to the end w/o a power ring.Vendetta wrote:During the series, possibly useful.Crom wrote: 2. Mazikeen from Lucifer
After the end, a power ring would be a fart in a tornado.

I think Bugs Bunny with a ring would be interesting.
