Any gunner position would be nice on the Revenge. I'm a pretty decent gunner in Free Allegiance, let's see if it holds out here. I do tend to freeze up when there's more than about 10 targets, though....

Okay, the B-17G Sherman's Revenge, serial number 42-97945-VE, has arrived in England, from the Lockheed Vega plant in Burbank, CA.

Pilot: CPT Civil War Man
Co Pilot: Edward Nigma
Bombardier: Tasoth
Navigator: Jacob Hawke
Engineer: Mike Nugent
Radio Operator: Dark Silver

Ball Gunner: Soryu
Port Waist Gunner: Alan Bolte
Stbd Waist Gunner: Chitty
Tail Gunner: Hotfoot

It's July 1944; and we're targting an aircraft factory in Hannover for this mission. Take off at the usual time.

Over the French coast, we run into an assload of FW190s.

A 190 walks it's fire across the fuselage, lightly Wounding Tasoth, Severely Wounding Civil War man, and Lightly wounding Edward Nigma. Some more fighting goes on, until the 190s are beat off.

We don't encounter any more enemy planes until a bunch of Bf 110s show up over Eindhoven

Soryu gets lucky and shoots down a 110 with his Ball Turret guns; and the others are driven away.

Cruising onwards, over Wesel, we run into a bunch of 109s, and Alan Bolte's gun jams, and he also loses his heater. Better hope he has plenty of hot chocolate.

Decision time now.

The Nose guns, Port Waist, and Tail Turret are jammed, and the top turret is completely tits up, the pilot's severely wounded, while the co pilot is lightly wounded...

Do we continue onwards, or abort the mission?

The AIM Chat wants to fight to the target; but I say Nay!

Bombs jettisoned, and dropping out of formation. Descending to a lower level so Alan doesn't freeze to death. A Me 109 wave shows up, but is beat off by Fighter escorts.

We made a safe landing.

Civil War Man is invalided home due to wounds. His war is over.

Edward Nigma recovers from his wounds, and takes over the pilot position from CWM.

Tasoth recovers from his wounds.

Matt Huang joins the crew as co-pilot.

Second mission, August 1944; we're hitting Frankfurt industrial center.

Wow, we get lucky this time, and go all the way nearly to frankfurt before we get bounced by fighters.

Fire is exchanged ineffectually between both sides; and bomb doors open, and BOMBS AWAY!

Starboard wing gets hit by cannons from Me 109; and the fuel tank is holed; but no problemo, it self sealed.

On the way back over Aachen, we run into a bunch of FW190s, and Mike Nugent, manning the top turret, shoots down a 190; but a 190 coming in from six o clock high rakes us, lightly wounding Tasoth, killing Jacob Hawke, and lightly wounding Eddie Nigma.

Wow, our heating system over Liege just decided to go tits up and completely malfunction. Shit.

Descending to 10,000 feet.

Landing back home.

Final results:

Edward Nigma recovers from his wounds.
Tasoth recovers from his wounds.
Jacob Hawke died during mission.

Einy, Junior has joined the crew as a replacement for the late lamented Hawke

September 1944; our Third mission as a crew! We're hitting Industry in Kassel.

While over Northern france, we start trading fire with 190s, and Tasoth and Einy Jr get lightly wounded. But after that it's a straight shot to Kassel.

BOMBS AWAY over Kassel, despite some enemy fighters which don't hit.

Returning home, over Northern France, Soryu scores again, shooting down a 109. However, another 109 rakes the fuselage from above; killing Tasoth; and we land back home with no further injuries.

Tasoth died during mission.
Einy Jr recovers from his wounds.

So Far, the SDN Squadron has:

Flown 7 Sorties
Shot down 5 Luftwaffle fighters
Lost 2 Aircraft
15 people have been KIA
12 have been WIA
27 Purple Hearts have been handed out.

Shep I want in. And I need a plane called "HARD SPANKING" with a dominatrix on the side and she holds a riding crop and wears an officers hat. Huge rack also, can't forget that. I say give me a full tank of gas and a full load of bombs and I'll run off a few records on that game out of SHEER awesomeness.

Have you recreated TBO with that game at all?

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.
Hit it.

Although my past history seems to be trying to find Lancaster's in the dark, on my own at ten thousand feet in a 109G......... I'll jump on board the SDN recruiting bandwagon... Simon Templar reporting for duty.

I'll turn my hand to anything that's available...

Simon Templar has shown up as a bombardier replacement.

Fourth Mission, we're hitting a railyard in Souest.

A 190 coming in high rakes us, lightly wounding Dark Silver, Severely wouinding Simon Templar on his first mission. A second 190 comes in and finishes the job on Dark Silver, and also severely wounding Matt Huang and killing Hotfoot.

I chose to abort the mission at that point. and landed back in England with two dead crew and two severely wounded.

Matt Huang dies from his wounds.
Simon Templar is invalided home due to wounds. His war is over.
Dark Silver died during mission.
Hotfoot died during mission.

Fifth Mission, we're hitting antwerp in October 1944.

Mike Nugent shoots down a 109 in a vertical dive with his top turret.

Darth Fanboy in the nose turret shoots down a 109 at 12 o clock high.

We're over the target, BOMBS AWAY; but we get hit by flak, making the tail wheel fall off. :?

The little friends keep us free of enemy fgighters most of the way, but near home a 190 in a vertical dive severs the control cables at the radio room... and lightly wounds alan bolte.

Ooh, I think we're in trouble, but we somehow make it back home, maybe we spliced back the control cables? and land.

Alan Bolt recovers from his wounds.

Sixth Mission, hit that Nazi Von Braun at peemunde in October '44

Soryu shoots two Me 110s in a vertical climbs down with his ball turret.

We drop our bombs on Von Braun, turn around...and make it back safely home thanks to the little friends.

We're now 25% through our 25 mission tour.

Seventh Mission, hitting Reims in Oct '44.

Our nav system's shot out but no problem, we just follow the other bombers to target!

Coming home a 190 sprays the flight deck and kills our beloved pilot, Eddit Nigma. :(

Lapsed Pacifist shoots down that 190 who killed our beloved captain from his tail gunner position.

Bob Dedmon brings in the bomber to a safe landing.

Post mission, Bob fleets up to Pilot to replace Eddie; and Ryan Crierie shows up as the new co pilot.

Eighth Mission, hitting Chemnitz in Oct '44.

Somewhere over Germany, engine no #1 suffers an oil tank leak; but it self seals.

In a gunfight, a Me 110 sprays our bomb bay and they hit the bombs....and nothing happens.

A Me 110 at 10:30 scores 2 hiuts and jams the top turret into place; lightly wounding Darth Fanboy and Einy Junior.

Over the target we encounter heavy Flak, and get hit by flak; the starboard wing's inner fuel tank is holed, but self seals.

We safely made it back home.

Darth Fanboy recovers from his wounds.
Einy Jr recovers from his wounds.
