Windu out the window
Ok, i saw him lose a hand, and get hit with about 2 seconds of force lightning, and get thrown out a window.
He was still alive at that point. (loud girlish scream)
And from what i saw of the clone wars cartoon, he jumped heights of several dozen stories (sp)
Isnt it possible for him to have survived? Land on a few dozen aircars on the way down, crawl down in a sewer where he belongs, and eek out a living as king or the Coura-rats?

I'm going to tell you what I told all of the Aayla Secura Wankers, Kit Fisto Wankers, Plo Koon Wankers, Mace Windu wankers etc... etc... exactly what I told them after Episode III, rephrased to specifically answer your question.
MACE WINDU IS FUCKING DEAD AND HE ISN'T COMING BACK.

Re: Windu out the window
He's got a point. Luke took more force lightning than Mace did and he recovered pretty quick from it. Why wouldn't Mace recover just as quickly?Alien-Carrot wrote:Ok, i saw him lose a hand, and get hit with about 2 seconds of force lightning, and get thrown out a window.

It's possible, and we know from ROTS novelization that he's almost invulnerable to Dark Side (at least novelization claim that his Vaapad fighting style "channels my own darkness into a weapon of the light" and that Mace deflected Force lightning to Sidious with Vaapad and without harm). But it's possible that Palpatine used full powered Force Lightning against Mace and not-full powered Force Lightning against Luke to torture him. And, BTW, if I'm Palpatine I had placed a HUGE group of Red Guards or clonetroopers under the window exactly for this case: eliminate the weakened Jedi traitor trowed from the window.

first off Palpatine wasn't exactly conserned about Luke's power and/or skill, where as he conserned (or at least awere of) Mace's power and/or skill, so the "UNLIMITED POWER!!"(tm) lightning could have more power in it
as for the Vaapad it needs active effort on his part to maintain, so the shock on getting his hand cut off could have prevented that
either way Mace Windu is dead and stays that way.

You know, if I get a job drawing for Dark Horse/Star Wars, which I am presently pursuing, I am going to bring Mace back just to piss you guys off.

I've heard that there were jedi obviously killed on Geonosis in AOTC that survived in the EU.
As for Mace Surviving, its possible, but he probably didn't (though that wouldn't stop someone from bringing him back if they really really wanted to. They resurrected Anakin after all. Or wait, that's Jacen.. I forgot..)

Doubtful he survived. While he has been shown to drop quite far and live, he would have been dropping hundreds of stories at least, assuming he misses any landing pads or oncoming skybuses. If, by some total chance of fate, he doesn't turn into airkill or gives the term "landing pad" a whole new meaning, he would spend several minutes falling before smacking into the rocks at the bottom with enough force to basically pulverize him.

That's C-canon confirmation of the most likely outcome of a G-canon event. Anything else is fanfic and unfounded speculation.Defenseless, Windu was bombarded with Sith lightning as Sidious unleashed a torrent of deadly energy at the Jedi Master. The forked bolts of lightning penetrated Mace's body, illuminating his form from within. The final blast bodily lifted him into the air, sending his form hurling into the Coruscant skies, to crash lifelessly somewhere in the vast cityscape below.

What I would really love is for his lightsabre to become some kind of relic, becoming a sorta RPG adventure quest item.
I mean, its definitely less campy than the Glove of Darth Vader of Obiwan Cloak.

I actually hope that bit is overriden by the upcoming TV show somehow.

It seems unlikely that even Mace Windu could have maintained enough concentration to leap from taxi to taxi for hundreds of stories, with his hand cut off, and suffering from the slightly distracting influence of being betrayed by the Chosen One.

Indeed. It is stated in Return of the Jedi novelization that Luke Skywalker experienced a notable increase in Emperor's Force Lightning's intensity, painfullness and sheer devastating power after the galactic sovereign had concluded his speech "And now, young Skywalker... You will die...", which would mean that a Force-user can and will have a great control over the power and intensity of the Force Lightning (which is also reinforced by the Empire's first series Betrayal, in which Palpatine defeats a number of traitorous stormtroopers with Force lightning and then merely knocks down a traitorous Moff using his infamous skill; later he also outright killed the said Moff with the very same power). The fact that Mace Windu's skull shone through his skin when Sidious exclaimed "Unlimited power!" heavily implies that what the esteemed Jedi Master had to endure was something quite lethal in itself, not even accounting for the loss of a limb and plummeting down a Coruscant skyscraper while still being surrounded by the dark side energies of Sidious's Force lightning. I think it's safe to conclude that Master Windu did not survive.Jim Raynor wrote:And that little thing called electrocution.Master_Baerne wrote:It seems unlikely that even Mace Windu could have maintained enough concentration to leap from taxi to taxi for hundreds of stories, with his hand cut off, and suffering from the slightly distracting influence of being betrayed by the Chosen One.

One of the problems with the Clone Wars series of cartoons, you need to also remember, is that it hyperwanks the hell out of the characters. Mace Windu is nowhere near as powerful in the films as he is in the cartoon; otherwise he would have crushed the entire droid army in the Geonosis gladiatorial pit with a wave of his hand and the larger battle would have just been him flipping around blowing waves of droids across the landscape while the Clone Troopers sat back and had donuts.

Anakin fell long enough in Ep2 to approach terminal velocity, and he survived with nary a scratch. I don't recall the speeder he hit moving substantially when he hit it, although I'd welcome correction on this point. If I recall this correctly, then Mace could fall as long as he wants and it shouldn't matter, assuming that he had enough of his wits about him to fall as Anakin did.chitoryu12 wrote:Doubtful he survived. True. Unlike Mace, however, Anakin was not missing a hand, did not have his nerves buzzing from electrocution, and was not in shock that the Chosen One had betrayed him. Anakin relied on the Force to land intact and was fully aware of what he was doing. Mace was disoriented, confused, in severe pain, and did NOT choose to be thrown out. If he splattered against the windshield of an airspeeder, it would have been a bit more permanent.Anakin fell long enough in Ep2 to approach terminal velocity, and he survived with nary a scratch. amazing, i post a OMG WINDU COULD HAVE LIVED thread, and not only dont i get flamed, a couple of people kind of agree with me. i wonder what else i could get away with here. mabye this.
Palpatine never died at the death star, he survived the 100 meter fall, made it to a shuttle, evacuated, and went to live with his grandson.
The clones that revived only THOUGHT they were re-embodiments of the original. And soon jacen will figure this out an seek out palpy as a master.
Then Ben will track them down to jabbas palace on tattooine, have a massive lightsabre duel, cut off jacens arms, throw him in the scarlac pit, (which bites off both his legs on the way down), and most of his outer skin is digested off befor palpy rescues him and rebuilds his body to resemble a sith war driod. Jacen is then dubbed.. Darth Recycled
OMG, THE HORRIBLE HORRENDOUSNESS OF THIS HORRIFYING THOUGHT IS
But then, i guess it is hard to show sarcasm on furoms, even when you say stuff like...
