But the alternative hypothesis (that it is, that it is a tool intended to insult you for liking Hitler) also requires him to believe that you are sympathetic to Hitler's cause, does it not?Darth Wong wrote:I can't believe that anyone could read my pages about Hitler and conclude that I'm sympathetic to his cause in any way.Darth Servo wrote:My reaction of reading his email was that he himself is a holocaust denier and "thinks" that Hitler's Christianity was further proof of his position.Darth Wong wrote:Ah ha ha, how clever, he thinks that anyone who points out that Hitler was a Christian must be a Holocaust denier. I wonder how this kind of mind actually works. Oh wait, I forgot; it doesn't work at all.

No, because it is intended to anger and/or shame me by falsely accusing me of being pro-Hitler and attempting to fallaciously associate me with Holocaust deniers.Cycloneman wrote:But the alternative hypothesis (that it is, that it is a tool intended to insult you for liking Hitler) also requires him to believe that you are sympathetic to Hitler's cause, does it not?Darth Wong wrote:I can't believe that anyone could read my pages about Hitler and conclude that I'm sympathetic to his cause in any way.Darth Servo wrote: My reaction of reading his email was that he himself is a holocaust denier and "thinks" that Hitler's Christianity was further proof of his position.

Because I'm a dickhead, I'd have responded with "You're welcome, thanks for the support!"
I don't think for a second he was at all being serious, though. Unless he's a totally oblivious fuckwit (a real possibility, I know), then I think the fact that the page is owned and operated by a guy named "Mike Wong" would pretty much clue him in.

Hitler was an atheist? Ohhh, nooo.... he was into the Occult, didn't you hear? Ouija boards, astrology, fortune telling, pagan gods like Wotan... That's why we have to ban Harry Potter in schools, because it encourages witchcraft, and as we clearly see, witchcraft leads to Nazism.
Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."
In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!
If all you want to do is have some harmless, mindless fun, go H3RE INST3ADZ0RZ!!
Grrr! Fight my Brute, you pansy!

I've never understood why a Christian would want to deny that someone who did bad things was also a Christian. It's fairly obvious that Christianity doesn't make you perfect. Do they think that having any belief in commen with Hitler makes them somehow less good of a person? It's nonsensical.

But don't you see, its their Christianity itself that makes them a good person rather than, oh I don't know, a persons intrinsic sense of morality and reason.Paradox244 wrote:I've never understood why a Christian would want to deny that someone who did bad things was also a Christian. Its their "us vs them" mentality and and evil monster like Hitler can't possibly be one of "us"Paradox244 wrote:I've never understood why a Christian would want to deny that someone who did bad things was also a Christian.
