I like European for playing, American for tradition (Eagles! W00T!), and Aussie for watching. Aussie rules reminds me of rugby, but rougher .

There is only one Football.

It is solely played with the feet.

And sometimes the head.

There is another sport the americans like to call football, but it is really a messed up version of "rugby"

Ja, but I prefer playing the sport, not watching. Rugby and Football rule.

Additionally I'm an LFC fan and I have to admit they are doing utter shite at the moment, Houllier needs to buck his ideas up.

I find soccer to be utterly unwatchable. It's fun to play, but just a mind-numbing bore to see. American football is my game of choice (isn't Canadian football basically the same thing as American with five extra yards on each end of the field?). Go Eagles!

That game stops every 5 seconds, and then you have ads that run for another half hour so the American economy doesn't collapse.

But then watching any sport is boring unless a streaker runs on...

My improvements for football:

American: make it rugby.

Soccer: make it hockey.
And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'

Usually when I get into one of these discussions I end up saying something offensive about footballers.

So I'm staying right out of this one.

You have to know how to watch football. The breaks between plays are for cheering and high fiving your friends (good play), or screaming at the TV and calling the coach/players/refs/other team/God/all of the above names that would make your mother cry if she heard you say it, provided she isn't right there with you saying worse (bad play). The commercial breaks are for getting more beer and oogling chicks in beer commercials (anyone see the new Miller Lite commercial, with the two chicks wrestling in the fountain? ). Halftime is for refilling the chip bowl and taking a cigarette break.

Ah, I see. Then you need to know how to watch soccer - from the terrace. It's the only way :)

None.

I hate sports (except for ping pong and pool).

American football is the most mind-numbingly boring sport to watch. Especially if you have a really good team against one that totally sucks. In my opinion, if you're going to end with like 47-0 in the fourth, you might as well end the game at half time and tell everyone to go home.

There's also the fact that it takes fucking forever to go 15 minutes...

I'm a football widow. So it can go to hell.
Except for three weeks every two years, when I actually give a damn.

I suppose football would suck if your team never wins or has no tradition of winning, but when your team has a tradition as deep as the mighty Alabama Crimson Tide, well then, football takes on a special significance. I will agree with you in reference to pro football, which ceased to interest me in the 80's...

All sport bores me to tears in general.

The only sport I watch is World Cup Soccer- purely because of the stakes involved it's just so much more exciting.

Most BORING SPORT EVER: cricket.
