Meh. Youtube's policy of "guilty until proven innocent" on copyright violation may seem retarded but it's probably the only way to cover their asses, legally speaking. Anyone who uploads videos to Youtube but doesn't keep copies elsewhere in case this happens is just being foolish.

Unfortunately, his website remains and makes no mention whatsoever of his legal troubles. In fact, it continues to proudly state that "Kent Hovind is one of the most requested speakers on the Creation and Evolution topic in churches and Universities all over the world."

Probably nobody to maintain or update it since "Dr Dino" got his new cell. Fortunately there's tons of independent sources to confirm he was sentenced.

There ARE fools with honorary doctorates or real, honest-to-god PhDs running around (usually in a field that's totally unrelated to the bullshit they're pushing; i.e., an economist prattling on about biology like a dumbass). Kent Hovind simply isn't one of them. He isn't a doctor in *any* sense of the word.

My guess exactly. I say that it is possible that he is, in fact, a doctor, just not of anything that would actually require him to think. Religious studies or something like that, whatever he can get with good old nepotism and "protection due to family", something where his mental retardation is not a problem but an asset.

When most people say "doctor", it is assumed that they're talking about a doctorate from a respectable educational institution, not something you got out of a CrackerJack box.

I recall that there was another creationist that was in fact a doctor. A doctor of philosophy.

And even respectable education fail sometimes. Or worse, the person does actually know his shit but still vomits bullshit anyway. I recall that there are some legit biologist that are creationist.
