That's not necessarily true. Yahweh, as modern Christianity portrays him IS internally inconsistent. But him not existing is only one of two possible explanations. The other is that they're wrong about God and he's actually lacking one or all of his alleged qualities. He could be very powerful, but not omnipotent. He could be very intelligent/learned, but not omniscient. Obviously, an all-knowing, all-powerful and infinitely good deity existing in our universe is impossible. However, if you're interpreting the Bible literally, Yahweh is none of these things.

Interestingly, in God's Debris by Scott Adams, it's suggested that a perfect, omnipotent and omniscient being existed at one point, but destroyed itself. Namely because that's the only thing it could possibly be motivated to do other than sit there. :)

I don't think the panicked Jewish soldiers who were cut down would have had time to think much. :)

I love the way Scott Adams writes for the reason that even if he thinks his ideas are completely wrong he still argues them from the point of view of intellectual stimulation. Very refreshing.

Back on topic, I was going to say yes to this after reading the OP because I thought it better not to be cast into hell and live a lie, but having read other people's arguements I've realised that there are other ways to go about it. Embarrassingly, the option to fight god didn't even occur to me until it was mentioned here.

Now what if you die and you see anubis and thoth/path. So your only problem then becomes one of how bad you were to your fellow humans.
