Re-Write (Robin One Year Later/Batgirl), Or Fixing Mistakes

A short story/write of an infamous line from Cass' first pos-crisis Robin appearance. I tried to keep it 'in character' for post-crisis Cass, because even without that horrific stance, the statement made was so wrong regardless.

Re-Write

“Sorry it has to end this way, Tim.” Cassandra stated as she looked over the destruction.

“Cassandra, please, we’ll get you help, I swear it—” Tim gasped as he limped towards her.

“Tim, I’ve had enough of the kind of help you provide.” Cassandra’s face was as cold as a statue’s, “The kind that only aids you when it’s convenient. Besides, you couldn’t force your aid on me even if you wanted to. You never taught me to ‘read’, but your body tells me everything I need to know about you. I’ve studied every style known to mankind. There’s simply no way you can win.”

“Then, I’ll just have to use no style!” Tim shouted and charged Cassandra.

He didn’t know what happened next, all that he knew was that the he was looking up at the cold night sky.

“What the hell was that?” Cassandra shouted.

“No style?”

“That was the flailing of an epileptic monkey. Do you have even the slightest concept of what ‘no-style’ is?”

Tim rolled over on his side, but Cassandra kicked him over and straddled him, pinning him to the ground.

“’No-Style’ is a unique form derived by the fighter to fit their own body type, size and personality. It takes years of training to even begin to develop.” Cassandra purred slightly. “You’re so far from that it’s laughable.”
