I found that rather amusing. Funniest bits, I thought were the hyperspace bit and Don't Call Me Shirley turning up. (I know the Doctor has a name, but I can't remember it.)

Very very silly, but alarmingly true to the story.
According to wikipedia, "the Mohorovičić discontinuity is the boundary between the Earth's crust and the mantle."
According to Starbound, it's a problem solvable with enough combat drugs to turn you into the Incredible Hulk.

The Doctor Who bit and the Grey Poupon Sandcrawler bit was a fucking crackup.

I'm not a huge family guy fan, but this episode was absolutely B.R.I.L.L.I.A.N.T :D

Best parts:

- R2D2 shooting down a TIE fighter

- Imperials arguing about "virtually" indestructable Death Star

I fast forwarded the song tough

As an absolute, iron clad rule, I despise musical numbers in any form of comedy. It's not funny, it's lame, it's embarassing to watch - just kill me.

Whenever I'm watching standup and some comedian picks up his guitar I gag and change the fucking channel.

Family Guy wasn't exempt - that musical number was a total waste of space - time that would've been much better spent covering other parts of ANH (the R2 vs Chewie chess game for example).

Frankly the whole "old man pedophile" running gag is overused, the fact that they made it into a song number is only slighty parrt of it. I could have done with less of the pedo-jokes overall. I mean cor crying out loud, they didn't drag out any of their other running gagS (like the evil monkey) -so why do they near-constnatly perpetuate this one?

I don't have a big problem with Herbert the old pedophile. After all, if they get rid of him, they have to get rid of Quagmire too, since he's a registered sex offender who gives girls roofies. Also, I think he was the best choice to play Obi-Wan, since you can put a creepy sexual connotation onto how Jedi teach their students (I know that idea's not original, since Chappelle's Show did a bit about Jedi in a sex scandal). I will admit they give Herbert entirely too much scren time on the show, though I chalk it up to a one-shot character they fell in love with. I personally wish they'd given a role in this episode to the Greased-up Naked Deaf Guy.

Naturally, this is pretty much the only clip from the episode that survives on Youtube Image

That's nothing new. Every stupid-assed joke in any Family Guy episode is beaten to death far past the point where it was even worth a mild chuckle.
Also, all the shot per shot references to the actually movie without any sort of joke or punch line is not funny. You are simply referencing the movie and anyone can do that.
That was the most galling of all. Way to much fanboy wank bloating this thing to an hour, when it could have easily been 30 minutes. This thing sucked balls. Same tired FG crap for me. Why wasn't the dad playing Vader, and the sister playing Leia? That whole couch thing reminded me why FG sucks so much. Never mind The Simpsons, Mad Magazine had far better parodies of Star Wars than this crap. I can't believe the same guy produces the Robot Chicken Star Wars parodies.

Bounty wrote:That was... excessively mediocre. I chuckled at the pimped-out TIE, but the rest was somewhere between "really unfunny" and "somewhat amusing".

Wasn't Family Guy watchable at some point?
It was?

Why?

Incidently, does anyone know if Rush Limbaugh led his voice to the show? It certainly sounded like him. ("Lando Calarrisian has been made Chief Administrator of the Vespin Mining facility. Two words: Affirmitive Action.") :)
That scene was my least favorite next to the song and dance sketch as well. Just so you know there are Republicans on this board as well. Its a Star Wars board not a Political Debate board....there are politic threads though

Anyway My favorite gag(s) was the ones with the couch. Takes you back to that scene from I don't know what show...could have been this message board actually with the Stormies bantering about the pole "Hey do you wan't this pole anymore?" "Nay toss it in the compactor"
good times good times.

And Meg's cameo was great

Star Wars.com did spoil these great gags though

The Doctor Who joke and the "Grey Poupon" were brilliant; the rest of it lagged in places.

It would have been a hell of a lot funnier without the pedophile. He hasn't been funny since the first episode he showed up in.

I agree with you with the old man. His best and only gag was when Chris was the paper boy.

I can't believe I forgot about the Doctor Who joke. I really liked that it was the Tom Baker era one to.

No one mentioned the gay alien from American Dad in the cantina.

As far as I can tell he's trying to be a backseat mod and say "don't knock Republicans because people on this board might be offended".

Obviously he's never set foot in N&P

Im not saying it was going to offend anybody. There was a post saying it was his worst part and they kid was asked why? And that was my response. Plus any fan of Family Guy knows that it is very left wing (Back to the Future Episode anyone).

I do think however that this episode was great. But I really think that they should have did the hour long episode as a span of Episodes IV-VI. I would have loved to see Seth McFarlanes take on the "I am your father" scene
