updating xp

When I try to update xp through the Microsoft update and I get an error 0x80070020 which is that a required program is being used by another. I turned off everything I could and still get this. Is there a way to find out which program is causing this or a way around this.

Did you turn your anti-virus off too?

This problem occurs when your computer has an antivirus program that uses real-time scanning.

Yeah but still no effect. Oh well I'll just update without using the window update site, more of a pain.
