Both. I'm very hygiene- and appearance-conscious. In the morning, about 5-10 minutes to wake up and make it so I can work with my hair because it's very curly and unruly.

I shower after practice because I'm all sweaty, and during wrestling there is the very real risk of skin diseases. If no practice, I will usually shower, but not always. Some days, especially Friday nights I am very tired and I have a game early on Saturday, so I just go straight to bed.

I always shower at night, right after a long day's work.

I always take my daily shower first thing in the morning without exception, though I occasionally take a second one at night if my day was dirty enough to warrant it.

Every morning, to wake me up. Usually 5-10 minutes, depending on when I get up. Mostly just a quick rub down with soap, and wash my face. I wash my hair every other day.

I like to have a nice long shower (like 20 minutes) once a week to properly scrub everywhere, with copious amounts of body wash. Usually Sunday or Saturday morning.

In the summer, a second shower in the evening is pleasant, especially in the hotter days. It's not nice going to sleep after spending the day in the 30C+ heat without washing the sweat off.

It's normally right before I go to bed. I don't want the sweat from my day's activities stinking up the place where I sleep.

A shower in the morning is part of my morning wake-up routine. I absolutely need it as I find it energizing.

Considering I sit in a nicely air-conditioned office for a good part of the day, I don't build up a sweat at all. When it's time for bed, I brush my teeth, strip down to my boxers and a t-shirt and hit the sack.

On the weekends, I am more likely to skip a morning shower.

Quick morning shower to wake up, longer evening shower so I don't go to bed smelling like shit.

Is this whole "at least once a day, and maybe twice" thing some kind of hygiene paranoia? Unless you work out every single day or live in a very hot climate where you sweat profusely all the time, a healthy person should be able to go a couple of days between showers and not stink. Is there some kind of diet issue? Are people chewing through garlic cloves for breakfast or something?

I dunno about twice, but I do once because my hair is more oily then most.

I do both for a large portion of the year. From May-June until August-September it is usually very hot and humid. From late August through February or March (if I'm good) I have sports 6 days a week

Dunno about anyone else, but I've got somewhat oily skin, so showering once a day is pretty much mandatory in order to get that grimy feeling off. Plus my hair is otherwise unmanageable without being very wet, so showering's the easiest way to fix that and kill two birds with one stone.

I shower once in the morning. Well, actually it's once before I go out, unless I'm in a hurry—in which case I try to at least wash out my armpits. They get smelly quickly. I find that my hair gets to feeling oily and nasty feeling if don't wash it at least every other day.

I used to shower at night when I was in High School. I had to catch an early bus, and liked to keep my morning routine down to an absolute minimum.

I shower in the morning, after PT but before work (not immediately after waknig up) on a near-daily basis. (weekends and easy mornings I'll skip in lieu of sleep)

Now in the dog days of summer, I took as many showers as was needed not to feel and smell like complete ass. I was outside all day and not bullshitting with my thumb up my ass either, so probably a little over 15 times I took 2 showers a day.

Well, I sweat fairly easily and will often do so during my sleep, so if I don't bathe at least once a day I start to get pretty ripe.

On top of that, I exercise five or six times a week, even if it's only walking my dog. I can literally, and easily, lose a pound or more while exercising so you can imagine how profusely I sweat.

Personally, at the end of the day, I can run my finger down the side of my nose, and it'll be slick with oil. That's got to go. Plus I use spray Gel + Hairspray on my hair every day, so if I don't wash it out, it gets...unpleasant. So, for me, not wanting a grease spot on my pillow at night and disgusting matted old, greasy hairspray hair in the morning, I prefer to go to bed so fresh and so clean...

My job involves manual labour, and often getting covered in greasy filth: not unexpected from an apprentice mechanic. If I worked a sedentary office job I suppose I'd be able to get away with less than one shower a day.

I know this is going to sound like the classic line "my shit don't stink", but even sweat doesn't necessarily stink, at least not right away. There's actually a science of body odour; it's been studied quite extensively. And as it turns out, sweat itself is normally odourless unless you have been eating something particularly pungent. The smell that we associate with body odour is actually caused by bacteria, and the problem with sweaty conditions is that they help that bacteria to multiply. Some people have more severe body odour than others even with the same amount of sweat, because they have differing levels of the bacteria. Also, certain parts of the body secrete sweat that contains more proteins and oils, thus helping the bacteria flourish further.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/health/conditions/bodyodour2.shtml

Personally, I've always wondered if you could produce a longer-lasting reduction in body odour by dousing your armpits with vinegar or something else that tends to kill bacteria.

I shower in the morning always and after extensive physical activity (if I have the choice). A wash face and hands will do for night. Besides, I like showers.

I live in Vegas and I'm also a person that is more prone to sweating than probably your average person. Couple that with the intense summer heat and the fact that I go to the gym and workout five days a week makes it preferable for myself to be a morning and night person.

I've heard of people using Rubbing alcohol...but...I don't know. I need aluminum oxides in my 'pits. Scares the bacteria away.

I've found that if I'm particularly pungent one day, I can dab a bit of that alcoholic germicide rub into the pits, rub it around, and the smell will disappear pretty quickly.

It's also true that eating a healthier diet -- i.e., more fruits and greens, less of that processed bullshit -- will get me smelling better. After about a week of near-vegetarianism, I noticed a distinct reduction in personal odor waking up in the morning and after working out.
A Government founded upon justice, and recognizing the equal rights of all men; claiming higher authority for existence, or sanction for its laws, that nature, reason, and the regularly ascertained will of the people; steadily refusing to put its sword and purse in the service of any religious creed or family is a standing offense to most of the Governments of the world, and to some narrow and bigoted people among ourselves.

I have to wash up often, because I'm allergic to aluminum oxides and the deoderants that DON'T have them are less effective.
