IIRC there have been at least 2 obvious trolls who had their accounts and all posting history deleted.Zablorg wrote:Just out of curiosity, in his first post on this thread he asks for his post to be spared deletion. Has any post ever been deleted on this forum?

RayCav's were. With good reason. Beyond that, thre was a troll caused crash once, and we might have lost some of the stuff from the real early days prior to the HoS. But Ray Cav's were the only ones purged - rape/snuff fanfics are not tolerated here.Zablorg wrote:Just out of curiosity, in his first post on this thread he asks for his post to be spared deletion. EDIT: and I think we purged some guy who advocated pedophilia (his name begn with an A, I don't recall it though), but I'm not sure. I know we banned him,but I can't remember if we kept his posts as evidence. RayCav was cleansed for sure though.
EDIT2: and testing is obviously.

Not on the grounds that poster is thinking and I still find it a blatant dare.Zablorg wrote:Just out of curiosity, in his first post on this thread he asks for his post to be spared deletion. Has any post ever been deleted on this forum?
Stuff gets deleted if it is a double posting or a few older things wherein the moderators didn't have a power they have now.
Anything else if it something that is illegal or of that nature either gets removed to be monitored by moderators or altered by said moderators.

some users have been totally purged but that's extreemly rare and needs a hell of alot more then this (I remember only 2 users from my time here that have been purged).Zablorg wrote:Just out of curiosity, in his first post on this thread he asks for his post to be spared deletion. The fundies and Trektards are so hard-up for proof of persecution that they still cite the existence of the Hall of Shame as examples of censorship. Because apparently, not only do we have to allow dissenting viewpoints but we have to make sure that Google will see them too.

Christianity makes sense to you. Congratulations. The idea that the government watches us through our television sets makes sense to people with certain types of schizophrenia.
Come on. How many people in how many different religions make the same exact claim? "I feel better because of it! It's true!"
You're not as special as you think you are, and you're one deity worshiper out of millions of others.

I've read and absorbed all your replies/posts. It's been interesting and informative for me.
I don't think I totally wasted your time - some of you got a bit of enjoyment from each other's posts. I laughed at some of the humorous comments, too.
Thanks for the advice about the Usergroups - I didn't know about them.

So, no comment about the fact that your argument basically boils down to "I couldn't hack it as a human being, so I need my crutch"?Basic Model wrote:I've read and absorbed all your replies/posts. It's been interesting and informative for me.

I can find enjoyment in far better ways then wondering why someone spammed the forums with a comment about one's likes. Can you at least try harder then "I shall declare what I like and then bait the moderators!"?Basic Model wrote:I've read and absorbed all your replies/posts. I never said I couldn't hack it as a human being, before I allowed God into my life.
I said I had tried a hedonistic lifestyle, and then tried to be a 'good' person - meaning a good employee, wife, mother, member of my community, caring individual.
I then said I had limited success at both. That was me being a bit humorous. A partying lifestyle was fun - I had good times, in my twenties - but it didn't fill the gap. And later on, I was 'successful' a good career, nice husband and kids, good friends, nice home, etc. I lived my life as best I could. But still there was an emptiness.

So going to church n-times a week or praying daily at home fills the emptiness ?Basic Model wrote:I never said I couldn't hack it as a human being, before I allowed God into my life.

If church activities fill the void, any other hobby or social club might have worked too. Your emptiness (from what you wrote above) sounds more like "being bored by routine" to me.
But if it makes you happy, as long as you leave everybody else to their own belief (or lack thereof), have fun.

Just one time I would like to see a Christian come on a forum and say, "I met this guy at church. He's called Jesus, and he's sooooo dreamy. After church we talked and then I totally scored. Never mind...It's just that I feel that criticising him in the way we did is proseletyzing (sort of, in the sence that we are attacking his relgion), but since he claimed logic, its ok. I have no logical backing for it though, its just my gut sence of courtesy, so I concede.General Zod wrote:Soldier of Entropy wrote:usion (now seen as false) that he was not trying to claim its logical validity, and we were. Yay meaningless style over substance? Not to make you feel bad, but since meeting my wife and having my son I haven't felt anything missing in my life. My wife is everything I need for body and mind and having a son has been exactly what I'd hoped for.Basic Model wrote:And later on, I was 'successful' a good career, nice husband and kids, good friends, nice home, etc. I lived my life as best I could. I don't understand the 'emptiness' claim Christians make. It's sad that their family lives and personal lives and career are so unfulfilling.

Oh - my family...my husband and children are an enormous blessing, which frankly, I don't think I could ever deserve.
Bringing up kids isn't easy, but I do realise how blessed I am. I can't use the word 'lucky' - though I can appreciate that's how others might describe my state.
It's simply my opinion and belief that no human, no 'thing' can fill the gap in me which was designed to be filled by The More.
I feel that every time I post on here, I'm annoying people more and more. I don't want to continue in that vein, and so this will be my last post on this topic. Previously, I've wavered between leaving things as they were, and wanting to respond to a point made by others.
Again I will say thanks for your time, and your opinions.
