He could, but they were supposed to have been shipped over right after the original incident with the Heralds, which has been referenced.
but still, they need not go into the void when UCB left the same cycle he was asking for the stuff.
I was expecting it to mean the pirates had an extra couple of cruisers finnished by the time the CON turned up to kill them, but if not then ok, I'll remove it from my build assignment as well.
Just as a point of amusement, my faction in this STGOD has inspired a number of other races and storylines for my own use.
With that, my belated post I'm working on with Bugsby (slower than I'd like, but Real Life takes precedence), and should have it finished by the end of this week, at the very latest.
Ok, it's been a week since Spyder blew some stuff up, with no response from anyone yet, and six weeks since we last heard anything from Thirdfain (seven weeks since we last heard anything from White Haven). Someone needs to take over their nations (temporarily or otherwise) and wrap up what's going on down there or this game will be permenantly stuck.
While I'm at it who is actually still playing? AFAIK Crossroads has dropped out.
I'm still in this thing, though I've been in a creative rut of sorts.
I ship Eino Ilmari Juutilainen x Lydia V. Litvyak.

Ugh... sorry for not posting in over a month, return to school tends to do that. And I'm sort of still interested in playing, it's just that the general slowdown caused me to lose stride right as school hit and now I'm not quite sure where I plan on going. Anyway, a general roll call is definitely in order at this point, and perhaps if there aren't enough people left to salvage this game the other people can start playing something else. 'Tis the way of things on the Internet I suppose.

I'm still willing to play, but it does seem as though we've had a general dropping-off of interest of late. The end of summer has a way of doing that, I suppose.
I've not had a reply from Bugsby, and Thirdfain appears to have dropped out as both player and mod. White Haven appears to have dropped things as well.
So, what are we to do now? This game could still be deeply interesting, but it's likely going to change directions from where it was formerly going. Depending on the number of players still interested (assuming this game goes forward again), we might need a new mod. Of course, if not too many people are playing, then just Hotfoot and Imperial Overlord could handle things.
If people are still interested, let's get this going again. If not, well, it has been fun so far, and I'd enjoy the next game.
I'm still interested, but A: I haven't really wanted to commit extra-special reaction provoking evil when I should maybe only be getting apprised of the double cross this moment, and B: have been pretty busy with real life(not to mention lazy).
I'm still interested and have far too much free time. The catgirls in space stand tall beside their alien spacebat sisters...or something along that line.
The problem is that Poland is now at the center of a war with the pirates and the league; not only are all three nations AWOL, but that's the most significant thing to have happened in the game to date, since the NGTO is implicated and the CON rushed to Poland's defence.
How about this; one of Hotfoot's mystery plot devices takes out Polish space, and the League and Pirate homeworlds. An altered version of the conspiracy transcript leaks implying the NGTO tried to use a recovered First One superweapon against Poland, and it backfired (boy were those First Ones into karmic retribution) and took out the attackers as well as the target. This is nonsense, since in actual fact the huge sterilising explosions/space warps/whatever were the result of Hotfoot's mysterious sneaky people and/or The Excession dropping by. But there can be evidence making it seem as likely as the attempted sneak attack (i.e. fairly but not completely implicating the NGTO).
But it takes those three nations out of the game and preserves the existing pretext for serious trouble between the CON and the NGTO. Of course, we'll say that it must have been the Heralds...
I'm still intrested, and I'm ready to go for that, if the other's don't object

Sure, that sounds good to me, if the mods and the other players are okay with it. It leaves room for intrigue, while neatly covering up the players leaving.
Like I said earlier this month, I'm still interested, but I'm still in that creative rut.
Starglider's proposal sounds awesome. If Hotfoot himself approves, then so be it.

I too am in a bit of a creative rut at the moment, but I must admit, its fun to play the badguys. If no one objects, what do you think of me starting up a new power with the intent of simply running it straight through the region to stir up shit. Considering my track record, Africa is probably in danger of no longer being a continent afterwards, but at least things will get moving. Otherwise I'll save this group for some other game, although I admit they are reusable for a wide variety of settings where reality has been turned off.

Given that those who've responded so far are still interested, but having creative ruts of varying sorts, another solution is to simply start a new game. This sounds momentous at first, until one realizes that many of us were new players at the beginning of this present one - we can all learn from the mistakes made and start again properly.
I think it's hilarious that everyone wants to play the bad guy, though. Given the game, this could definitely be fun. Perhaps "STGOD: War of Evil?"

What mistakes do you think were made that caused the game to grind to a halt? As far as I can see we just got unlucky with critical players leaving. I can't think of any fix for that other than absolutely ruthless 'go AWOL for a week without prior explanation, your nation is automatically toast' modding. Which really shouldn't be a problem anyway, if people are as ok as they claim they are with moving straight on to second nations, third nations etc.

Ah, allow me to clarify - I didn't mean to imply that the mistakes made caused the game to grind to a halt - other factors caused that to happen.
What I meant is that I'd personally not try to go for the "honorable psionic samurai" type of faction if we started over - I'd quite gleefully go for something much more sinister. Now that we've all had more experience with point worth, faction quirks, and so forth, all of we more junior players would be able to fashion their faction (say that three times fast out loud) much more enjoyably from the beginning.

I'd like the web equivalent of a map we can all push little counters around on. No programmed game mechanics, just a canonical map. Obviously secret fleets would only be visible to the owner and the mods.
I'd be happy to implement it, it wouldn't take long. It would satisfy my WWII fighter command re-enactment urges.
