Transformers in the 41st millenium

Post by Sidewinder »

I had a strange dream where Optimus Prime transformed into a Land Raider and fought for the Space Marines. (I know it's unlikely, as the Imperium considers AI to be an abomination, although some comics hint the Spark is biological in nature, so the Autobots might be considered transforming dreadnoughts.)

So... the Autobots and Decepticons wake up in the 41st millenium. What happens?

I think it's likely the Autobots will ally with the Tau, with their propaganda about "The Greater Good." The Decepticons will ally with whoever helps them kill Autobots-- the Necrons are a likely choice, considering the Decepticons' disdain for organic life.
Please do not make Americans fight giant monsters.

Those gun nuts do not understand the meaning of "overkill," and will simply use weapon after weapon of mass destruction (WMD) until the monster is dead, or until they run out of weapons.

They have more WMD than there are monsters for us to fight. (More insanity here.)

Granted I can see them being very useful as infiltrators, but going by the movie for example they'll just get wasted by 40k weaponry. Cartoons etc I'm less sure about (not seen much of it), but the movie Transformers won't last long if they get into a serious fight without some major upgrades.

My dream was about G1 Transformers (the original cartoon, animated by Sunbow), so assume it's the G1 Transformers that awake in the 41st millenium.

You'd be better off having their sparks wander for a bit, and be seen as some variety of Machine Spirit before they take form. If the autobots and decepticons get accepted as gifts rather than as wierd aliens, things will go a lot better.

If the Autobots fell in with Space Marines fighting a bunch of Orks and Tyranids, I can see things working out for a while, but if they were found by some Commisar or an Inquisitor they would probably decide quickly that humanity wasn't worth teaming up with. :P

When there's an Inquisitor, they could Hide In Plain Sight! 'Cause there's more to them than meets the eye!

*groan* :)

It really depends on where they land.

Personally I want to see Optimus Prime as a Baneblade or Thunderhawk, but that's just me.

I think the Decepticons and the Space Marines might be fast friends....

EDIT: Of course, i expect the Adeptus Mechanicus to make sure the robots don't turn on the Space Marines.

If the Transformers waken on Earth in the 41st Millinium? Oddly enough I was talking to Nit and Tev about this the other night...Nitram offered to castrate me for suggesting Fort Max becomes the A.M.'s new Machine Spirit.....

The Adeptus Mechanicus new true earthly incarnations of the Machine Spirits in their eyes, Wheeljack in particular gets along famously since he is a bit of made scienctist.....

the Dinobots fall in with the Orks...Grimlock then begins to lead the most terrible WAAAGGH! 40k has ever seen ("Me Grimlock is biggest and strongest!") Of course he paints himself red so he goes faster.

The Decepticons find quick "friends" in either Chaos or the Space Marines. The Autobots would fall in with either the Tau or the Eldar I think, the lesser of all the evils.

I'd hate to see Devestator after the Constructicons reformat to 41st M versions of construction equipment....and the Combaticons take on a entirely more fearsome image.... Of course the Predacons feel right at home and find some planet to start "hunting" on....

Yeah...may not work, as I have a, at best, imperfect knowledge of the 40k -verse, but there ya go.

Seeing the gestalt forms take on Titan mimics would be great cinema. At least, hopefully, we'll get to see a Nimitz one in TF2 so you can get a good idea of what it'd be like if the larger weapons of WH40k got copied.

If 'Transformers: Generation One' (by Dreamwave Productions) is anything to go by, that's going to end VERY BADLY, i.e., Megatron's going to get medieval on the Adeptus Mechanicus.

Yeah, but I bet the Ad Mech would get even more medieval. Like blow him up with a walking gothic cathedral.

Perhaps the word "medieval" should be italicized rather than "more"? :)

Someone else beat me to it, but their are plenty of giant titans around crushing little Decepticons.

If all else fails, there's the option of orbital bombardment.
