Please do not make Americans fight giant monsters.

Those gun nuts do not understand the meaning of "overkill," and will simply use weapon after weapon of mass destruction (WMD) until the monster is dead, or until they run out of weapons.

They have more WMD than there are monsters for us to fight. (More insanity here.)

Never mind, I found out who Emma Sheen is on Wikipedia. However...
Emma is almost immediately pitted in a duel with former AEUG friend, Reccoa Londe, who defected to join Paptimus Scirocco on the side of the Titans. In the ensuing duel, Emma manages to stab Reccoa's Pallas Athene with Mk-II's beam sword, disabling it. After abandoning her heavily damaged mobile suit, to check on Reccoa, Yazan attacks yet again. This time, he fires on the ruined Pallas Athene, destroying it and killing Reccoa. Emma is caught in the explosion and fatally injured by a shrapnel. Emma would soon be retrieved by Kamille, but she soon dies in his arms.
That's it? She expresses concern for an enemy pilot's safety, and then dies in the arms of a damn kid? Man, the Japanese-- at least, Japanese men-- have a real hatred towards women warriors, don't they?

First, that "damn kid" was Kamille Bidan, one of the best Gundam pilots in the AEUG.

Second, it plays out a lot better and more dramtically in the show than it reads in a Wikipedia character entry.

Third, everyone dies in Zeta. :P

I guess that's one reason NOT to watch 'Zeta Gundam'. (I like happy endings.)

Well that's a damn shame, because not only is Zeta the very pinnacle of the Gundam franchise--before and after--it also has one of the best unhappy endings...

I watched the 'Mobile Suit Gundam' movies, and I didn't like them-- no empathetic characters. I watched two of the 'Mobile Suit Gundam SEED' movies and 34 episodes of 'Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny'-- they had empathetic characters, but the stories were full of bullshit.

Then I watched 'Full Metal Panic'-- that was entertaining, and for once, the hero isn't a damn pacifist who hypocritically fights for peace.

According to Wikipedia, Mizushima Seiji directed 'Fullmetal Alchemist', NOT 'Full Metal Panic'. (I love Arakawa Hiromu's manga, but the anime series and the movie...)

Well the protagonists of Gundam 00 are only pacifistic in their ultimate goals.. of course their plan seems to be 'lets piss in everybody's coffee so much they put aside their differences to kick the shit out of us'.

That's what I'm getting. It's very Gundam Wing and the whole "WAR IS BAD!" shtick is getting a tad old. Probably as old as the "ZOMG!!1! IT'S A GUNDAAAAM!" thing. You just never shout that unless you want to die.

I shall give this a few more episodes. So far I'm thinking so-so, if only because, bar the calendar change and hilarious geo-politics, it's still reeking of every other series too much for me to care.

And really, that bishie scared me. I was also almost thinking "Wow, another Maj. Kusanag- HOLY SHIT IT'S A GUY?!".

That would make a nice twist ending, actually. Celestial Being pisses off everyone to the point that the Union, HRF, and AEU are more than willing to join together and smash those pesky bishounen into dust with superior numbers and firepower.

They'll get their peace, and they'll pay for it with their very lives. I hope that's how Gundam 00 ends.

I have been some what disappointed with the first two episodes, however the most disappointing first episodes I watched in a gundam series have turned out to be tied for my favorite (turn A). Starting bad seems to be a good thing for a gundam series of 50 episodes, because if you start good you become gundam seed destiny (I loved the first 7 episodes, I still don't know why I watched the other 43) or you become Gundam X and get canceled early (Gundam X is my other favorite).

All I hope for this series is that it doesn't do what gundam seed did. I watched from episode 30 of Seed all the way through destiny for one reason. Dearka deserved to get laid. If Kira can get some pussy, then Dearka definitely deserved it, that man macked on whatsherface harder than any gundam character has macked before, and not a moment of loving came. My god, even Judau gets 2 implied fuck buddies in the Kiddy series of gundam, why oh why can't we get one of the few deserving characters a little action.
A teenage girl is just a teenage boy who can get laid.

As far as I can tell, this series has very little in common with Wing so far aside from a handful of Gundams at one time. Pacifists? They're quite indiscriminate in their killing. Currently, I see it as what would happen if you had a bunch of Gundams in the OYW outfitted with Minovsky Drives from Victory, the Gundams have a massive technological advantage currently but they aren't invincible.

To be fair, First Gundam is older than most of Star Wars and SEED sucks. You have to physically make yourself look past horribly thought out mechanical designs, that have since been retconned, in MSG to watch it. Though, you should have found some empathetic characters there...
