They'll probably get buffed a bit. At worst, they shouldn't be any more underpowered than they were in Melee.Dooey Jo wrote:But in Melee there was really only one character that was different from the others; the Ice Climbers. And it turned out that if the pink one died, your ability to recover was fucked, and as such they were underpowered. But now we have them again
The "endurance" factor is most likely there as a balancing factor. One of the Pokemon will probably be stronger in general (even though each will have their strengths), but the player has to know when to pull it out.plus the Pokémon trainer that might work like Zelda in the last game, if she could shapeshift into three different characters, but not too often apparently.
Yeah, I'm interested in seeing how that will pan out. Giving the no-nonsense bounty hunter a wildcard like that seems a bit strange, but Zero Suit Samus does look like she will be fun to use, even if the can't dish out the damage that she could with the Power Suit. Then there's Samus that can't use her most powerful attack without turning into Zero-Suit Samus.
And, of course, it looks like her Final Smash can potentially miss completely, since appears to be simply horizontal. Probably a free KO on whoever gets tagged by it, though.
Yeah, but I don't see any reason to believe they've given up on balancing, as you alluded to earlier. As I said, it's going to be interesting to see how they balance such things...
They'll probably each have their specific uses. Link's appears to only target one person, but it's probably a guaranteed KO (unless it was executed somewhere like the lower area of the Hyrule temple in Melee, perhaps). Mario's appears to blast everyone, but maybe someone at a low percentage could survive. Bowser, Yoshi, and Fox require the player to still hunt down opponents.Ah, I see. Well I don't think there will be something that will break the game, they'll most likely make sure of that, but I think there's a good chance some characters will be less useful. That's not a huge bad thing, but a bit boring, I think.
So Link's is probably more of an assured KO, but others could get more KOs. But a hammer or Kirby star could potentially get you three KOs, too.
But if they could only get the item once per match?Yes I know that, but I think all characters had some way of countering it, and when they did get it, they had an equally good chance of KOing someone. Imagine instead if some characters had turned into a Hammer Bro and threw hammers, and others made the hammer chuck out hearts and tomatoes...
