That was freaky! I was scratching my head going "WTF? It's obviously clockwise only!" Then my eyes slipped away for a second and <blink> she switched! I tried closing one eye as others before did and it turned the other way. Funny thing as well is, if I keep saying left in my thoughts, she'll turn counter-clockwise. If I keep saying right, the figure will go clockwise and that's with both eyes open. She started to go back and forth.
I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."
It's a bit tricky - and headache inducing - but she can swing both clockwise and counter-clockwise although the first seem to be the default setting.

Started off clockwise, then about 30 seconds in, it flipped to anti-clockwise and that became the norm. After watching it for a few minutes I was able to make it switch by glancing away for a second and then glancing back. It's much easier to make it switch from clockwise to anti-clockwise than to make it from anti-clockwise to clockwiserhoenix wrote:Follow this link:

I'm curious as to your responses - call it a social experiment of sorts. I've tried everything I can think of, and I can only perceive her turning clockwise. I'll try again tomorrow, when I'm more awake.

Kind of like religion, isn't it?Stuart wrote: Started off clockwise, then about 30 seconds in, it flipped to anti-clockwise and that became the norm. Once you get out of the emotional phase where you need the comfort of having an invisible friend in the sky, and truly start perceiving the world rationally, it's really hard to get back.
I wonder if religion has something to do with how our brain is so fucked up?

I've seen her go counter-clockwise on occasion but I'm not sure if that's me or the way the .gif is designed.wautd wrote:Counter-clockwise. Seriously, what the hell is wrong with you people
And just after I finished the last sentence, she turned around. Can it be that it's just a trick?

She is constantly counter clockwise for me. I can not for the life of me figure any other direction out. Follow her arm or her leg or any thing and it is spinning that way! Ahh!

I finally managed to get her to spin the other way, all I had to do was stare at her nipples with one eye closed and then go back to looking normally with both eyes. But as soon as I blink she goes back to spinning counter-clockwise.

Interesting.
At first glance, she was turning clockwise. I looked a way for a moment, and when I looked back, she was turning counter-clockwise.
If I close my eyes and concentrate for a moment, I can perceive her turning either way.

Strange, I can visualize her turning counterclockwise, but when I look, I perceive her going clockwise.

Clockwise, but if I concentrate hard enough I can get her to switch after a minute or two. It's easier to switch if I view it frame-by-frame. I'm not surprised most people are seeing her go clockwise, since the other way requires us to be looking at her from below the plane. Not only is this less natural than from above, but it doesn't match her reflection.
And I agree with some other posters: I don't think this has anything to do with left brain/right brain, and her nipples are distracting.

I definitely see her as moving counter-clockwise. It took me a LONG time to figure out how to get her to "switch."

The only reason I broke the link is because I wasn't sure at the time whether or not those in administration here wanted to direct-link to the site, so I played it safe.
More on topic, I can perceive it going both directions, though it's based on mindset - if I'm analyzing the image piece by piece, I can see it going counter-clockwise. Just looking as I normally do, I can see it going clockwise. Given the way I normally think however, it is easier for me to see her going clockwise.
As long as I don't stare at her nipples, it works.

Hah. I figured it out.
When I open it up, she typically goes clockwise. The image default is,of course, counter-clockwise, so my brain falsifies the image by default.
When you look at the reflection of her feet, she suddendly snaps into counter-clockwise mode and stays there. I have to close my eyes and imagine her going clockwise for this to return to the default.
So, I might say that my mind perceives things irrationally the first time around. It's actually a good thing to know.

She flips back and forth randomly on me. it was insync with a friend online so i thought maybe it was just a recorded display but i tried it with another friend at her house when i was fixing her computer and she was seeing it the opposite direction i was seeing on the same screen.
May you live in interesting times.
