Thank you to all of you who've responded with missions so far - I've downloaded Homesick, and I'll download Into The Depths of Hell, and the Babylon Project (along with Heat 'em up) shortly.

Sadly, I'm still stuck on the same mission in Derelict, owing to little free time, as I've been studying mostly for my job interview in the Bay Area tomorrow morning. I keep getting lanced by the capship anti-fighter beams on the same mission. I shall try again soon, though.

The fucking Freespace 1 port is impossible due to the invisible asteroid bug. Can't see 'em, can't shoot 'em, but they still pound the fuck out of the Galatea.

Wow, I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and skip this mission in Derelict.

I managed to get past all the weirdness of getting zapped by the pirate anti-fighter beams, only to see Governor M'Kembe's shuttle ram repeatedly into the closed station doors until it exploded. Bah.

How interesting. Can you give me the link for where you got your install of Derelict, as long as its SCP? If yours works better than the unintentional hilarity of watching that shuttle ram into the closed doors repeatedly, I'd be deeply grateful.

EDIT: "than," not "that."

I got it through the online installer that Ace linked to in the other thread.

Hmm. Alright, I'll try that. Thank you.

EDIT: I've used the installer, and replaced the files from my Derelict install with those from the installer. Hopefully I won't run into the glitch with poor Governor M'Kembe's shuttle this time - I should know shortly.

When you go to the launcher, on graphic options, do you have the 'enable jpg' option selected? I'm pretty sure that'll give you your asteroids back.

Yeah, fuck Derelict.

I downloaded the version from the installer, and started over to catch back up to the mission Rites of Passage, the same one I was stuck on before.

The Governor's shuttle rammed into the closed doors until it exploded again. So, I failed the mission four more times until I got the option to skip this mission and advance to the next one. This then repeated the Rites of Passage mission again.

Okay, so much for that campaign.

Yeah, the Derelict campaign has that bug where you can't actually skip missions. But I don't know why the hell the governor's shuttle is doing that; for me it just hung out on the other side of the station trying to stay away from the attackers.

Oh, it did for me too - until the attackers were cleared out, and the station said "right, we've cleared out a docking bay for the shuttle, come try" and the shuttle said "lol k" and rammed repeatedly into the doors.

Has anyone else run into this issue, and if so, how in the name of all that's holy and pure did you solve it?

I really like Derelict so far, and that's partially why this is so frustrating.

I've never had that happen, actually. The version I've got right now is the one that comes from Turey's installer (not sure if that's the one Ace was talking about), and I cleared that mission without a glitch. One thing I did run into was a bunch of campaigns just started crashing on me for no apparent reason. I ended up nuking the whole folder and doing a fresh install, and it cleared up a lot of problems.

In reading this thread at the HLP forums, apparently the best fix was to cheat, and destroy the docking ring of the Luxor, so the shuttle "chooses" the right flight path. I'll try it now, as much as I despise cheating.

EDIT (after test run): It appears this shortcut works. However, due to the construction of this mission, my advice for others with my issue with the shuttle is to wait until the pirate fleet is destroyed, and the shuttle is finally given orders to land within the Luxor before using the kill cheat to blow up the docking ring. NOT the Luxor itself; just the docking ring. This will force the shuttle to wheel about and land within the shuttle bay, immediately ending the mission with success.

Though I personally nearly feel that I have to take a shower after using cheats, in this case, it appeared to be a necessary evil, as I was unable to find any other solution for this problem, up to and including reinstalling the Derelict campaign directory.

On a minor note, does anyone know where to get some good campaigns for The Babylon Project?

The only ones I can find are the ones that come with release 3.4. All the others are broken links.

Just as a minor update, apart from that one irritating bug about the docking ring on that one mission with Governor M'Kembe's shuttle, the campaign Derelict is awesome. I just finished it, and I'm still thinking "wow."

Right, onto Homesick, betwixt selling my stuff in real life and getting prepared for my move to the Bay area in CA.

Yeah the last missions in Derelict are pretty cool.

"Pilots we have good news and bad news. The GOOD news is that we've pinned down the Nyarlathotep and you get the honor of launching the attack to finish her off! The BAD news is that right now the Nyarlathotep is doing her very best to re-open the Capella node and let a hoard of Shivan Jugernaughts swarm into the heart of the GTVA. Oh and you have perhaps fifteen minuites do do this whole thing. Luck!"

Yeah. The first time I downloaded it, it was the non-SCP version, and something glitched in my system so that my loadout for the last mission was fucked up. My first attack on the Nyarlathotep was in an Artemis with no primary guns and Hornets and Tempests in the bomb bay. It did not go well.

Wow, yeah - I do hope you at least had the Kayser. ;)

I'm not exactly sure what's so special about the "Artemis 2.0" they put in for the last two missions, but I like the name Hydra better anyway. Particularly with one load of Trebuchets, and two loads of Cyclops, plus my trusty Kayser.

One thing I thought was a bit odd was how the Auriga was basically unaccounted for after the failed capture run upon it. Granted, it was the last MT ship left in the fleet (purportedly), but still.
