Video Problem

Post by The_Last_Rebel »

I'm having trouble when I try using a media player like WMP 11--I have to expand it to full screen in order to see the whole picture; it won't fit the video to the window size.

Also, on certain vids the color is all distorted-it will look like something out of an acid trip!

Any ideas why it's doing that?

What type of video files are you trying to play? Do you have all the most recent codecs you need for the files in question?

Just standard Windows Media stuff. I'm using Media Player 11.
I don't know if it could be a problem with my video driver. Everything else seems ok. I try adjusting it and nothing changes.

That doesn't help. Is the container .avi? MPG? WMV? Does it use AAC, Divx, xVid, h.264, AC3, what?

Can you check out VLC or Media Player Classic and use one of their non-overlay renderers? If it shows up normally on them its likely that your drivers are doing some funky things with the overlay renderer, if not then I'd check codecs.
