I don't suppose you'd believe me if I told he worked for Toyota...
Of course he works for Mazda!

but it's a complete suck compared to the power you can get out of a 13B...tim31 wrote:RX-8 company car, riot! Good thing the RENESIS is more efficient that earlier 13B engines...!

Nah, not lately. I've been doing some fuel efficiency experiments, and I've gotten it to about 22 mpg overall by employing various tricks. More coasting before a stop, keeping the engine at under 2500 rpm on the highway, shifting at 3000 rpm when driving around town and no engine breaking. They make a pretty big difference.aerius wrote:Durandal's probably flogging his new ride like a car magazine test driver, so I'm betting his overall fuel mileage is likely in the teens.

I should hope the engine isn't breaking...Durandal wrote:...and no engine breaking. They make a pretty big difference.

Sorry for the necro, but this is the member's cars thread .
There's another, nicer pic, but I need to photoshop the license plate out first. I also need to get some actually good pictures of the car (These embarrass me), before my sisters scratch it with their accursed female driving

We saw this classic while we were out biking earlier this year, it took a while to sort through all our photos.

F360 in a pretty rare colour.
Different angle, so you can see the engine.

It's not silver, it's actually a light silverish blue. Really nice colour, I can't say I've seen that colour on any other car.[R_H] wrote:Why is silver a rare colour?

Re:
No engine braking? You mean that improves fuel efficiency? I've heard that modern cars atleast use engine braking to keep the engine rotating without using fuel so it'd use less fuel to slow down using engine braking than depressing the clutch and letting it coast.Durandal wrote:no engine breaking. Wow, it looks like your Trans Am is still in mint condition. It's a beautiful car and I hope you can hold onto it and keep it in good condition for many years to come. His Divine Shadow wrote:Well, here is a slightly bad picture of my car I took a few years ago when on vacation in Åland, it's impractical, huge and fast but fun. Re: Car Pictures Thread
It's looking iffy right now :/ I'm probably selling it this spring. I am giving it a good service. Swapping all the fluids again (did it first when I got it at 110k kilometers, it's now at 134k), brake fluid, auto gear fluid, engine coolant and so on. The only bad parts on it are the rims, that could be fixed with sandpaper and new clear coat, the paint has got swirls as well from car washes and such, they used that crappy water based color on it when it was made at the plant in Van nuys instead of the better method they had at the other plant, thats Cali regs for ya... The interior is black leather (it's all black color scheme everywhere) and in really good shape though, aside from the normal leather aging which I think looks good. Also got the original tape player, but not inside it ATM.
It's a real GTA even though it lost the side badges, I had it verified with a guy with access to the GM registries that it was an authentic GTA model and not just a regular Trans Am they've put a few extra badges on as well as the bucket seats. People have done that before.
Aw fuck I really don't want to sell it But since I moved to the city it spends it time mostly at my parents in an extra garage and I drove it maybe 6-700km last summer :/ I still really don't want to sell it but I dunno, my gf and I are getting a loan, buying a condo, a new car (probably a Yaris), I could use the cash...

FAT tires! That's the thing about custom jobs, they take all the badges off usually... although I'm a little surprised they didn't just shave off the door handles while they were at it

Yeah, I don't think those seats are stock either!Phantasee wrote:FAT tires! That's the thing about custom jobs, they take all the badges off usually... although I'm a little surprised they didn't just shave off the door handles while they were at it
Anyway, the thing in the middle of the grill has "427" flanked by two checkered flags. Probably refers to the engine.

Very nice, and always a pleasure to see one in a color other than the usual red.aerius wrote:F430 in a pretty rare colour.
