Yoko Kanno Jazz Band Scores?

Post by Zaia »

Hey, I'm trying to find a fully-transcribed arrangement (or hopefully the original) of "Tank!" the opening theme song to 'Cowboy Bebop' for my jazz band. Any ideas where to look? I've been searching all my usual places for ordering sheet music, and haven't had any luck. I've tried putting Kanno's name in search engines like Google and have gotten basically nothing back.

The best I've done is I've found some guitar tab for it, and I found a couple piano solos that have apparently been transcribed by fans. I need the full jazz band arrangement, though, and I don't have time to transcribe it myself. Any ideas where to look? Anyone live anywhere near Japan, where they might have it in sheet music form?

I managed to find a little. This.
Cowboy Bebop Sheet Music

At last, sheet music for a Kanno score has been officially published. The "Cowboy Bebop Bandscore", containing Kanno's band arrangements for the tracks Tank, Rush, Space Lion, Cats on Mars, Memory, and Real Folk Blues, is available from Movic, ISBN #4896014138, retailing for 2000 yen.

I can't read Japanese worth shit though, so I can't help you out with that last one.

Just an odd thought and it might not even be there either but try your local comic book store/card store with all the nerdy stuff. Every town seems to have one and they usualy have all sorts of stuff based on anime.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

I am capable of rearranging the fundamental building blocks of the universe in under six seconds. I shelve physics texts under "Fiction" in my personal library! I am grasping the reigns of the universe's carriage, and every morning get up and shout "Giddy up, boy!" You may never grasp the complexities of what I do, but at least have the courtesy to feign something other than slack-jawed oblivion in my presence. I, sir, am a wizard, and I break more natural laws before breakfast than of which you are even aware!
