Stopping an earthquake

Sounds good, but how could we stop other earthquakes when there isn't a rock involved, when it's simply plate on plate, however else they are interacting? Will we ever be able to stop other earthquakes? Plates will always run into each other due to the flow of the mantle, which is what we'd need to change/alter, and how would we? I guess it would depend on what causes the flow. It could just by the earth rotating, or perhaps pressure in the mantle and core.

We wouldn't want to stop the rotation of the earth, nor the pressure which are natural and necessary processes which need to happen and will cause greater problems if we do.

I call bullshit on this; it’s hardly the first internet article I’ve seen from a ‘small Israeli company’ which promises radical world changing results for almost no cost if only someone would give them that money!

How the hell do you expect we can have an earthquake without rocks? :wtf: What do you think a tectonic plate is made of?

Predicting the quakes is doable, we're only 10-20 years away from that with the California faults. As for prevention? Forget it. There's no way to safely deal with the amount of energy stored up in those rocks. Besides, a fault isn't a 2-dimensional vertical plane, it can be a hundred miles wide. You can't perforate rock at eight kilometers deep over that sort of an area within the kind of window you'd get from quake prediction.

Just the PREP on digging ONE hole would be 2 months, and you'd need dozens.
