Well the Legacy comic series doesn't really have anything to do with the Legacy novel series. At least from what I understand. I'm not currently reading the comic's, although I've been looking into it.

The only commonality the two have is that they're in the same publishing era, and both involve characters from the same families (the Skywalkers and Fels, at this point).

Legacy, which just finished its first major story arc, is head, shoulders, crotch and knees above Del Rey's abortion of a series.

You mean "abomination"

After reading the synopsis for the books and realising they had totally lost the plot and resorted to rehashing and more silliness, I have refrained from reading these books.

Ridiculous that we had to deal with total character assassinations.

And yet another update for this week. NJOE has noticed that in the announcement for Sacrifice, the official site slipped in the title for the penultimate LOTF novel: Revelation. So, excluding Book IX, the remaining known titles are currently:

Book 4: Exile
Book 5: Sacrifice
Book 6: Inferno
Book 7: Fury
Book 8: Revelation

Nothing new; just a reminder to everyone that LOTF IV: Exile goes on sale exactly one week from today.

Good. Those who do care will inevitably join Karen Traviss as fodder for the insults of the rightoues.

Alright, nothing much to add for the moment, save that Random House has uploaded an audiobook excerpt for LOTF V, Sacrifice. You can download it on the book's main page here. I still miss Jonathan Davis doing the audiobooks, but at least Marc Thomphson's improving.

Alright, update's about a week late (work and inability to log into SDN), but I'm back with a reminder that LOTF V: Sacrifice is now in stores and that the usual talkback thread is up (though not by my hand).

Several updates for the price of one.

The covers for LOTF VI and VII, Inferno and Fury respectively, have been posted on the main site, as have their respective synopses (or a partial ones rather).

LOTF VI: Inferno
Luke Skywalker wanted to unify the Jedi Order and bring peace to the universe. Instead, his wayward nephew has seized control of the Galactic Alliance, and the galaxy has exploded in all-out civil war.

Jacen Solo works quickly to consolidate his power and jump-start his plan to take over the Jedi. Convinced he's the only one who can save the galaxy, Jacen will do whatever it takes, even ambush his own parents.

***

LOTF VII: Fury
Fighting alongside the Corellian rebels, Han and Leia are locked in a war against their son Jacen, who grows more powerful and more dangerous with each passing day. Nothing can stop his determination to bring peace with a glorious Galactic Alliance victory -- whatever the price.
***

Finally, the Fury page also states that the title of LOTF IX was revealed at Celebration IV to be Invincible. so, with that in mind, the complete listing of the LOTF novels is as follows:

Book 1: Betrayal
Book 2: Bloodlines
Book 3: Tempest
Book 4: Exile
Book 5: Sacrifice
Book 6: Inferno
Book 7: Fury
Book 8: Revelation
Book 9: Invincible

Could they have come up with more bland and boring titles?

Well, the title of book 9 is an awkward adjective instead of a generic noun.

This is the guy they want to use to win over "young people?" Are they completely daft? I'd rather vote for a pile of shit than a Jesus freak social regressive.

I gave up at Exile. It is actually getting painful to read. I did buy Allegiance and you know the EU is truely fucked when even Tim Zahn is well below power.

Allegiance I thought was good because it proved to me that Zahn could write a decent book and not have Thrawn involved at all in the story. A few things I didn't like but they were nitpicks in what was ultimately a great toilet read.

I enjoyed the parts of the book that centered on the rogue stormtrooper squad and even a few of the Mara Jade sequences, but the rest of it was fairly forgettable (I honestly don't even remember what Luke did in the book). Still, the image of Leia working as a waitress in some dingy cafe was rather amusing.

Bump.

A minor update - two of the LOTF authors (Denning and Allston) have posted and interview on the LOTF series art the main site . Howver, it's more a promotional piece with no real details on the third act (there's a claim about not having plotted out the ending, but it's clearly done in jest). Still, as it it LOTF and post-NJO related, might as well post it.

Bump.

The full synopsis for LOTF VII, Fury, has been posted on the Random House Website:
Fighting alongside the Corellian rebels, Han and Leia are locked in a war against their son Jacen, who grows more powerful and more dangerous with each passing day. Nothing can stop Jacen’s determination to bring peace with a glorious Galactic Alliance victory–whatever the price.

While Luke grieves the loss of his beloved wife and deals with his guilt over killing the wrong person in retaliation, Jaina, Jag, and Zekk hunt for the real assassin, unaware that the culprit commands Sith powers that can cloud their minds and misdirect their attacks–and even turn them back on themselves.

As Luke and Ben Skywalker struggle to find their place among the chaos, Jacen, shunned by friends and family, launches an invasion to rescue the only person still loyal to him. But with the battle raging on, and the galaxy growing more turbulent and riotous, there’s no question that it is Jacen who is most wanted: dead or alive
.
The novel will be available November 27th.

Do they HAVE to cripple Luke into inaction in every fucking EU storyline?
