I actually loved the running down hunters part. :P

First few i killed using the combine grenade, when i ran out of ammo i realized i had a car and thought, "could i run them over?". And when it worked i was like "hell yeah!".

The ending song for portal is so full of win, it advanced the story, made even mode clear how much of a psycho GLaDOS is, and made me fill like a jerk for killing it all at once.

:wtf: I found it almost too easy, several times I got more then one of them in a single pass. If you didn’t notice, you don’t have to hit them at full speed, and in fact you can hit them even going very slowly and then push them while accelerating until they die. Combine that with the infinitely respawning health packs and I was disappointed at how quick I won

Look, I think it's awesome to have options. I think it's nifty to be able to use the gravgun to kill dudes rather than only guns and explosions. But I think Valve pushed a little too hard, and I didn't like how forced it felt at times.

Well as has been pointed out you can use console to spawn anything anytime in that game, and it won’t change the ending or anything like that. Personally I find a ‘rocket launcher’ which fires guided missiles that have near pinpoint accuracy and infinite flight time (seriously, you can keep one in the air for as long as you want) get real boring real fast when you have to fire off 75-90 of the things. I’m pretty sure that’s why they had you use the gravity gun to start with, because they wanted to take advantage of the improved engine to have more enemies in bigger spaces and yet not have it all come down to standing still with rocket spam.

What I really wish they'd added was a crapload of infantry attacking in-between Strider waves, with the last wave being a joint assault. That would have been way more fun and challenging then dealing with Striders alone by any means.

How quick did you win? It took me several attempts. But then I had problems actually hitting the Striders with the gravgun-bombs.

I'm just really not particularly entertained with having to fuck around with tossing those damn things with the grav-gun. I didn't like it. I hope that never comes up again.

How far away were you? Its tricky if they are at a distance, but up close it shouldn't be that difficult.

Finished it, running over three hunters when they group together is pretty amusing.

Has anyone managed to kill a hunter with its own flechette? I got near when they attacked white forest, but they explode too fast to do aim it reliably, and you usually end up dead if you're running around waiting for them to fire at you.

Anyway, I played Portal first, then Ep 1 then Ep 2, Episode 1 was so short I'm glad I could move on to Episode 2 straight away. Ep 2 was much more interesting, though I'm still disappointed at the lack of variation in alien species on Earth. I also think it would've been cool if the vortigaunts brought some xen forces with them, it'd rock to see some gargantuas fighting striders instead of just canis ex machina.

The last battle I rather enjoyed, I prefer these to the road more travelled of bosses. The hunters are the biggest problem when it comes to shooting the Magnussens at the striders, since the striders don't even really notice you and the hunters fire right at the magnussens as soon as you pick them up. Also, they do sometimes sidestep and they never grouped together when I played it, so running them down was immensely gratifying when I did it.

It's super easy. Grab something with the gravity gun, let it shoot the object, then toss the object at the hunter just before it goes boom.

That happened to me with a milk bottle.

At any rate, my thought after finishing the two games that I feel ashamed to have used the phrase "Pure, insane Physics loving genius" on previous electronic creations :P .
(And GlaDOS is as awesome as people say she is. The Companion Cube is not, the bugger even tried to stab me!)

Coolest ending of a video game in a very long time. I still can't get that tune out of my head and I finished the game in the afternoon.

Anyways... I was led to believe that the G-man enters the picture in the end - was that wrong or did I just miss some extra or something?

Killing the Striders was easy as piss once I figured out that Hunters could be killed by automobile.

However, it'd be nice if one of the achievements in Episode 2 is killing a Hunter with its own flechettes - I mean, come on. What a pain in the arse to get hit by those bastards, now I've got to hold random object X with the gravity gun in front of me and throw it back at them? Pfft.

It'd also be nice if every resistance member except you didn't die by the end of the attack. Fight properly, ferchrissakes.
