"Step Into The Light!"

Post by Lord Poe »

Ok, let's say that when you die, you don't turn into worm food. Death is like it is in "Ghost".

So, would you choose to walk the earth forever as an apparition, or step into the Light?

Question: Does this light supposedly lead to God? If yes, I would rather walk the world forever.

Besides, I'm kinda curious about how the human race will turn out.

I would rather exist in this world forever even if I couldn't really interact with it. You are basically immortal that way and would get to see many cool things as time goes by.

It would only suck if earth became a desolate wasteland due to a disaster or whatever and you were forced to exist all alone for eternity with nothing to do except walk around and look at all the rubble.

But then you get to see evulution(sp?) in action. Granted it wold be a LOONG boring time.

But I wold rather walk alone on the Earth as a ghost than suffer the so called heavenly light!

Well, if there was a God/Gods and he/she/it/they were benevolent beings then I'm pretty sure they would let me walk around Earth and check stuff out :)

I'd have fun with the whole being invisible thing - find out what my friends really think of me. Learn to haunt, and torment my last evil flatmate to bloody insanity, then, when I'm bored, then I'll go into the light.

God's an asshole, so he'd probably drive up the rent in heaven, and I don't think I could afford it, do I'd walk the Earth.

If it's like Ghost, there are tons of cool stuff I could do once I learn how to control it. That would be cool. :D

the walk forever thing... until I can raise a big enough ghost army to invade heaven and install a democratic gov't.

I don't remember the movie too well: can I haunt people? Give the cold shudders, move curtains and stuff?

From what I can remember, you can talk to mediums, take over people's bodies and control them. You can also move things if you concentrate. And walk through walls and the other ghostly things.

Once you learn how to affect the real world, you can actually try and "live" again. You can interact with people, you can still certainly do things like drive a car, play on the computer, or even go skiing. The only problem would be talking directly to people, but that could be solved with something like a PDA.

Where exactly do you come up with the idea that you can 'learn' to interact with the physical world again as a ghost?

I think that defeats the entire purpose of the thread.

Well the original post said death is like it is in "Ghost." And in the movie you can do all those things. Except, I don't know about stuff like skiing though. It would at least look really weird since it would just be a couple of skis sliding down with some poles floating in midair.

couldnt you will air to move to the sound of your voice so you didnt have to talk through writing? what about creating the image of your body? i mean, since you can create energy in soda cans surely you can just create raw luminous energy.. Maybe only the oldest most advanced ghosts can do this.

If I can use a computer then I pretty much can do anything, steal money, create a false identity, use chatrooms, etc. Only the physical contact would be a problem.

Being a ghost, it wouldn't be too hard to sneak a peak at naked women.

Although if South Park is true, then the women in heaven are already naked. But all Mormon.

Or until it gets boring.

I'd try to rest for a while. Meditate for 10 years at a time in some unused corner of the globe. I would just let time slip by.
Of course if this really could occur, the angry ghosts of plenty of ecoactivists would have trashed the industrial complex.

Im a fan of consciousness download myself... when the body dies, the brain finds the nearest compatible (same species) hardware that doesnt have an OS, applications or data yet (ie a fetus, likely in the 2nd trimester) and proceeds to do an ultrawideband zip upload before total shutdown... no ghosts walking around.
