I think I would have to go with X-Com or MIB. I think X-Com, just because they operate openly and with far more resources. They don't worry about keeping secrets or anything (although that is impressive in its own right), they just worry about blowing things up real good.
MIB seems more of a customs/police force to X-Com's militarism.

I'd give it to SG-1, but they're just too small to hold off a full invasion once it gets here. X-com it is.

You guys got it all wrong, SG-1 doesnt need resources to stop an alien invasion, they've already done it like...6 times! What have we seen the MIB do? Shoot down some small UFOs, and chase people around in there car? patooie. As for X-Com, they've got some heavy duty stuff, and is pretty well organized, but it simpl can't match up to O'Neil all powerful character shield, and even without it he'll undoubtedly sabatoge the enemy ships/kill untold amounts of them wiht his P.40/C4 the crap outta everyone/use Carters technobabble/ect.
The SGCs got everything they need to stop an alien invasion. An army of 4 that'll kick alien arse wide open.

If you want to talk character shielding, X-Com is a video game with a save function. If one were so inclined, an entire alien invasion could be beaten back with 0 casualties through the magic of save/reload. As such, I dont think that character shielding is the best grounds to argue for SGCs superiority.Darth Garden Gnome wrote:You guys got it all wrong, SG-1 doesnt need resources to stop an alien invasion, they've already done it like...6 times! By the way, how would X-Com plasma weapons compare to some of the crazy alien technology featured in MIB? From the game's graphics, it would seem that the Noisy Cricket does more collateral damage than a heavy plasma weapon.

SG-1 has four people with MP-5s or FN P. 90's depending on season, yes they also have a long pole which wounds humans, yet vaproizes fist sized chunks out of steel and concreate…
MIB has perhaps a few dozen agents with some nice tech, but still have trouble with single aliens.
I'd go with X-Com. There the only ones who really have the resources to deal with wide spread attacks. Plenty of bases, Mach 6 fighters, Plasma rifles and the ability to fight underwater, plus they can fund them selves by selling alien dead…

The Noisy Cricket does an incredible amount of damage, even more so than many X-Com medium arms, but MIB is more of a customs/police force.
My choice of X-Com is due to its resources, which are far greater than either of the other choices available.
And yes, it bothers me that their elite agents have such difficulty hitting targets, but I think in a real invasion X-Com would be the team to go with.

X-Com all the way. They've saved the world from Alien invasion at least 3 times (X-Com, X-Com 2, X-Com Apocalypse), use state of the art human tech and alien tech, are well funded and are out in the open so they don't need to sneak around.
MIB seem to save other planets more than they save Earth. They also seem to be more of a police force than an army.
I don't watch SG-1 that much so I don't know how many times they've saved the world. But they are just a branch of the US military so it comes down to the question on whether or not the US military could stop an Alien invasion.

Also since the origional question was about a cold war style invasion then it would definately be X-Com as all the games are based on cold war style invasions, although in X-Com Apocalypse the aliens are a bit more visible by causing destruction, but they still try to infiltrate.
