Opera and this BBS
Have any of you guys experienced any problems with Opera 7 while surfing the SD.N BBS?
When navigating through the board, I periodically get one of those errors where the program shuts down and Windows offers to send an error report. I'm going to start using Opera 6 to see if it's a problem with Opera 7 specifically.

I've occasionally had problems with Mozilla not automatically logging me in, but I think that was just because I was logging in from two different computers...Robert Treder wrote:Have any of you guys experienced any problems with Opera 7 while surfing the SD.N BBS?

This isn't the first problem I've had with Opera 7.0...
Grrr. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Maybe they'll address some of the new problems with the next patch.

It's more a problem with the board. Though my problems tend to be more along the lines of the board doing strange things, or refusing to connect.Robert Treder wrote:Have any of you guys experienced any problems with Opera 7 while surfing the SD.N BBS?

Well I have both 6.04 and 7 beta2 with the former I have no problems at all on the board. However with the later I find that when I click on a page other than the 1st for a thread I'm still taken to page one (i.e. I click on the link for page "3" and go to page "1")

If it's a slow response problem, it's probably the board. I don't remember the traffic stats, but they're pretty big. But if the browser is crashing, well, nothing that any website does should make a browser crash. It's obviously the browser. Opera 7 is still beta.

Beta 2 is definately much more stable than Beta 1, the later did crash a few times here and elsewhere but it hasn't happened to me yet with the former.Darth Wong wrote:If it's a slow response problem, it's probably the board. Yeah, when I'm using Opera 6.02, I don't experience that problem. It's just kind of crazy that with 7, I was only getting it on this board.Darth Wong wrote:If it's a slow response problem, it's probably the board. The only thing I can think of is that on this board I switch from page to page, link to link much more often and more quickly than on any other pages, so that might have something to do with it...especially because it only crashed as it was changing pages.
Oh well. I still love Opera.
And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'
