My life is a lie  .
Both forms of transfer occur during meiosis. The swapping of DNA is called crossing over, while the recombination of individual chromosomes is called sexual recombination, I think.
Yep. you get crossing over when sister chromatids come together to form a tetrad. The ends of the homolagous chromosomes swap (on average, the larger the chromosomes the more crossover events occur) and then the rest of meiosis occurs and ou get random assortment of the chromosomes. And after a while in storage, if the gametes are lucky, they meet another gamete

I just respond, "ID isn't even a theory. It's just wishful thinking, at best."

Wow. That's powerful stuff. Seeing it truly laid out before you with actual scientists, and researchers with hands on experience is practically indisputable. It's too bad you couldn't get something like this mandated as course material in schools to put an end to this ID nonsense once and for all.

The sad truth is that adults of all stripes and walks of life are caught up in the religious game one way or another and undoubtedly very few really have any true knowledge of evolution. Day to day life concerns eclipse a lot of things you heard in school and when you hit your 30's on you arrogantly think you're pretty 'wise' and if you get confused by religious influences, it's easy to mislead yourself. Of course a lot of the creationists in these videos make it clear that they simply WANT to believe. Their statements all sound defensive in nature. "All I need to know is....", "I believe the Bible is the inerrant word of God"...etc. They can't even defend their belief by citing any evidence. It all comes across as "Well THIS is what I believe and I know it's true". Yet they can't demonstrate a single thing they 'know' to be true.

It's actually quite sad when you think about it. I'm sure it's the fear of death that motivates people beyond reason to hang on to God. I don't blame them for feeling that way, death scares the hell out of me too, but what the fuck good is putting your head in the sand? You can believe as hard as you want and keep praying like thunder, but if God doesn't really exist, you're still going to end up as nothing more then worm food. *sigh*. Depressing, but probably factual.
You have to realize that most Christian "moral values" behaviour is not really about "protecting" anyone; it's about their desire to send a continual stream of messages of condemnation towards people whose existence offends them. - Darth Wong alias Mike Wong
