Any Annie Lennox fans?

Post by Justforfun000 »

I'm unsure where to place this, but I guess News and Politics is the most practical application in regard to this.

I recently got involved in a Myspace blog incident that ended up stumbling upon Annie Lennox and her personal blog space. Unlike the majority of other artists, she actually really took to myspace and started doing personal blogs on a very regular basis. Sometimes daily in fact.

She made it a point to ensure that people knew her blogs were actually HER and not some promotional agency on her behalf. She has even mentioned her love of Myspace and the feeling of connection she has felt with people by blogging. She says she reads all of the comments on her individual posts, and I believe it because one example of an inflammatory comment she did the rare step of responding in the thread and dealt with it personally. Normally she doesn't do that because obviously she wants to be somewhat indirect so there is no common personal conversations and such that would be difficult to do without unique problems being a celebrity of her status.

Anyway, the point is that even though she's very perwsonable and describes daily feelings and events, she is focused very strongly on AIDS activisim and encouraging people to take a stand to simply make our voices heard so we can make a difference. She's a truly unique person, and even besides THIS part of her, I'm a huge fan because I think she's a truly exceptionally gifted artist, and one of the most hauntingly beautiful voices of our generation.

Please check our her web space dedicated to "Sing". This is a song she enlisted many major artists to contribute to, like Celine Dion, Madonna, Pink, etc. etc... They all said yes and the message is worth listening to. Please check out her link and go from there. Any action helping her cause is well worth doing. I truly believe that.

You have to realize that most Christian "moral values" behaviour is not really about "protecting" anyone; it's about their desire to send a continual stream of messages of condemnation towards people whose existence offends them. - Darth Wong alias Mike Wong

A worthy cause in any case, though I do like her music.

But getting into flame wars on MySpace? One can't help but think she'd be walking on broken glass.

ZING! Yeah, I am the master of puns.

I believe Kevin Smith deals personally with his blog a lot too, though I'm unsure if his MySpace page is like that. Personally, only Facebook gets my attention. MySpace is full of posers (lol) and FAKE people. And my personal favourite, fucking retards.

Did she talk about the recent revising down of HIV infection rates by the WHO?

I'm not sure. I've been a bit behind on her blog. She's pretty up to date with most info though, so I wouldn't be surprised.

Thanks for this information. I did not know she had a page. I will have to check it out; I have been a fan of her ever since Eurythmics.
