From what I understand, the title was actually sounding better than this until the revelation of Darth Krayt's true identity a few months back. Now, it's just as bad.
I still don't see how that's so horrible, except for maybe the 'Yet Another Order 66 Survivor' part, but then, seeing as no one but HK-47 and Krayt himself know the Tusken language, he could easily blend back in and literally no one would be able to tell the Empire he was there, except maybe Obi-wan, but he's not going to be telling anyone where Jedi may be.
Obi-Wan banished Krayt from Tattooine. So much for Jedi solidarity.

Well, at least it makes sense in that it would connect emo-Jacen LoTF with druggy-Cade LoTF.

Cade has had the only realistic reaction to Skywalkers in the galaxy. Get fucking high and drunk and hope you can forget about them.

Wouldn't you?

I mean for fuck's sake, literally every Jedi/Sith/and every other fucking retard wannabe comes after you because of something that happened barely a generation ago.

Personally I'm amazed he just didn't abandon the name and the Force.

Read through the first few issues of the comic today. It seems to be superior to the novel. I guess that has to count for something.

It doesn't seem to be a straight-up rehashing of the original trilogy like the novel series is a rehashing of the prequels. At least the 'insurgency' is dominated by a bunch of Imperials with their own idea of Jedi, instead of a rehashing of the Rebel Alliance/New Republic. The Imperial Knights are probably the most intriguing thing in the EU in a while, even if the whole concept is a bit unfortunately too reminiscent of Space Marines. But the real Jedi Order are underground and broken up, which makes them more interesting in my book.

How closely does LOTF, the novels, ape the prequels?

The name of the novel series is Legacy of the Force, the comics are just called Legacy.

It's basically Anakin Skywalker's fall redux, with Jacen in the pilot seat this time.

He tried. "Just when I thought I was out... They PULL me back in!"
That seems to be the over all arc of his character.

That, and they branch off into other characters, like the Stormtroopers that killed one of the Sith, in an issue or two.

There's also an upcoming two-parter space battle with the last Alliance Admiral who kept his fleet together for 7 years and refuses to surrender to the Empire. 8)

A 2 parter? That's ... quite relatively new.

I'll have to pick that up when it comes out it sounds interesting, and I love me some space battles.

It sounds like a rehash of ANH/ROTJ, with the blurb being
For seven years, outlaw Admiral Gar Stazi has led the remains of the Galactic Alliance in hit-and-run operations against the Sith-led Empire. When word reaches him of a nearly completed, top-secret Imperial construction, he gambles his entire fleet to seize the project and turn the tide of war against the Sith!

Last Stand of the Galactic Alliance!
But it gets a little interesting with the next issue's preview:
The conclusion of a shocking two-part tale pitting the Sith Empire against the Galactic Alliance in an all-out space battle!

The Sith have lured outlaw Admiral Gar Stazi into a trap to destroy the Alliance once and for all. Yet Stazi is no fool-he may have agreed to play the Sith's game, but not with the cards they expect! Meanwhile, forces loyal to the deposed Emperor Roan Fel wait on the sidelines. Are they here to help, to hurt, or simply make off with whatever's left when the dust settles?

Might get interesting if the battle has several plot-twists along the way. :)

Then its turning the tide of the war should be a crapshoot too. Really only DS's should fill the "overwhelming weapon" niche, and it should be such a logistical black hole I don't see how some insurgents capturing it would do any good.

What are Jacen's motivations for being evil, again? To do what Anakin did by saving people? Cade, at least, is somewhat interesting. I like how bringing people from the dead is a Dark Side technique (perhaps the writers were thinking of necromancy?), and that the reason why he left the 'correct' side of the Jedi was because he was afraid of the Dark Side and of his power.

Isn't he doing it to make his daughter safe because he saw some vision of all out war, which SURPRISE, he brought on himself?

Nah, at worst I think they'd be going for one of those dime-a-dozen instantly forgettable Dark Side doomsday devices from KOTOR and other games, not the dime-a-dozen bigger explosion doomsday devices from the comics and novels.

I'm just hoping it doesn't involve the YV. Which I actually don't mind in Legacy so far, since their presence basically makes them just another weird alien race, except with advanced biotech and lack of Force signatures.

Wasn't the whole Force signature thing resolved at the end of Unifying Force? Or did the EU post UF have the Vong still stripped of it...(laaaaaaame idea to begin with, but necessary to scare the Jedi I guess...)

They have a brief cameo on Zonama Sekot in Dark Nest I: The Joiner King (which shows the struggle to make the Domains co-exist peacefully), but aside from surviving remnants of their bio-tech, we've seen niehter hide nor hair of the Vong in the novels since TUF. And as I haven't been reading the Legacy, I'm not sure how they're being handled, there.

They're made scapegoats for some sort of nasty plague by the Sith, and get genocided. A few survive, and are comfortable with technology.

The only ones that are featured are one Master Shaper (who was involved in a terraforming project that got hijacked by the Sith), and her two bodyguards. Other than that, there are just a lot of Vong torture and spy tech lying around.
