Witch Hunters mod for Dark Crusade reaches public beta

Post by Feil »

In case you've been living under a rock for the past year or two, the Witch Hunters - Adepta Sororitas mod, which adds the Sisters of Battle and their chums the Arbites as a full race to Dawn of War: Dark Crusade, is the most gorgeous, magnificent, awesome, splendid, amazing, ocular orgasm of a fan-creation ever to hit RTS gaming. It has reached public beta. If you own Dark Crusade, you have a moral obligation to download, install, and play this mod. A moral obligation, understand?

Go here:
http://www.witch-hunters-mod.com
for the download.

The password on the install is the number 3.

Bugger, I just uninstalled DC et al. How finished is it? When a mod says "Public Beta" it can mean anything from "almost complete" to "armies composed entirely of bright pink place holders"?

It's a beta.

There's a locked building or two and a few locked units. Balance needs some polishing, and there are a few AI bugs to be hammered out when the computer plays the Sisters. It's fully playable, fully voiced and sound-effected, and every model, animation, texture, icon, and visual effect is not only present, but twice as good as anything Relic has put in the game.

Just had a quick go of this and holy shit- This shear quality this mod exudes is incredible. Even the voice acting, which usually blows in RTS mods, is well done (there are still a few that sound like American kids in their basement, but even they are bearable). It even has new (and decent) music.

I get the distinct feeling the Sisters of Battle in Soulstorm are going to be very poor by comparison.

Anyone who has it already care to let me in on what the password is? I don't feel like digging around on the forums for it.
