[DC Metro] More anti-expansion dickheads

On the 28th of November this group called Tyson's Tunnel filed a lawsuit against the federal government attempting to stop the above-ground 23 mile rail extension to Dulles airport.

Basically, the Tyson's Corner(for those of you who live in Northern Virginia, it's a massive clusterfuck of shopping malls, Defense Contractors, and Government agencies and not enough road) Chamber of commerce is trying to get this thing to be built underground rather than aboveground. Of course, this will add quite a bit to the final cost, and time it takes to build, and if the "Big Dig" is anything to go by we're going to have problems with the final product for years and years.

I've interpreted this anti-expansion movement as a bunch of clowns in Lexuses who do not want their already nightmarish commute made worse while construction is on going. Any other DC locals think the same?

Its a bunch of virginia horse-country renecks who want to continue to own million dollar homes on tiny lots but not have anything so unsightly as a rail transit line visible. They aren't anti-expansion but they are fucking NIMBY's who don't want shit unless its bigger and better roads for them to drive their SUVs on with every longer commutes into DC for their 500k/year office jobs power lunching their way through taxpayer's money. Basically its a bunch of rich fucks who want things their way and fuck you if you don't want to do things how they want to.

The same kind of shit may end up being the hold up for builing an actual rail line as the "purple line" or stopping the needed expansion of rail transit in the NVa and central MD corridor. Its rich assholes who think that tranist will hurt their oh so precious property values and bring in "unsavoury elements" also known as the people at the bottom of the heap they climbed over to get to the top.

Mmmm Tysons Corner. Hey lonestar, I've always wondered why they don't just continue the Orange Line up past Vienna; it's right in the fucking middle of I-66; it actually runs between the two sides of I-66.

Yay, just what I need: more DC area traffic problems. Right near me in Montgomery County, they're putting an 'Inter-County Connector' road that is also expected to fuck traffic up even more. Anyways, I can see both sides to the Tyson's argument, but I'm pretty inclined to say that the construction will make things worse for the moment, but over time will (likely) help traffic in the DC area.

Oh I know what is in Tyson's Corner. I'm talking about the people who populate the fucking immediate surrounding area and then try to work/shop in Tyson's i.e. the fucks right up Leesburg Pike who make my trek out to Sterling the most mind numbing hour every time I make it. Those are the fucks who are opposing the Tyson's above ground extension.
