Is Gordon Brown Cursed?

Is this man cursed? Or has he simply got some of the worst luck known to a British PM since Chamberlain? Since he took over in the summer, the damn country seems to have been struck by every known mild natural disaster known to mankind, more political scandal than Blair used in for shampoo and the government has been look like complete and utter prats. Oh, and some rather daft terrorists

Today's example is of course the loss of several million trainee-drivers' data in the US (Why the fuck the date was there......)

So, was the man cursed by a gypsy queen in his youth? Or has he inherited it from Blair, whose sheer personality kept it in check?

Can he manage to hold on a few years until the date of the next election? Or will the tories sneak in beforehand?

From the looks of it some of this stuff predates his actual Prime ministership... just...

can the blame really be layed at his feet? (other than the fact he's currently in charge)

I'm pretty sure that the family benefits fiasco came from a department that would have been under his authority and that's probably the biggest of the 'what the fuck are you morons doing?' incidents to hit so far And for better or worse, Brown generally seems to be thought of as being second only to Blair in general influence in the government over the last ten years which means that the shit is going to stick to him.

Because Brown is a well-known control freak and takes a much greater personal interest/influence in departments, he's held more responsible than Blair, who was able to pass things off to his ministers and officials. As I've noted before, he's also fired ("offered resignation") senior officials before their resignations would stifle criticism
