Shitbag kills Sacramento deputy. Area on lockdown.

Post by Superman »

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ― The Sacramento County Sheriff's Detective who was shot in the neck while chasing a man in South Sacramento today has died.

Dozens of officers have created a five-block-wide perimeter in the vicinity of 42nd. Ave. and 37th St. They are telling residents to stay inside and lock their doors. Traffic is also being diverted around the area.

The officer and his partner, both gang detectives, were in plain clothes when they made an unscheduled stop at a known gang house in the area of 47th Ave. and MLK Blvd. in Sacramento at 2 p.m. today. There, they saw a man who they have never seen before. When they attempted to make contact with the man, he took off running and led officers on a chase through yards of nearby residences. The victim's partner says he was behind his partner in the area of 41st Ave. and 32nd St., when he heard a gunshot and found his partner on the ground with a gunshot wound to his neck, say police.

The officer is at the UC Davis Medical Center undergoing surgery. He is listed in critical condition.

The suspect is described as an dark Asian male about 5'5" tall, 18-20 years old, 130-140 pounds. He was last seen wearing a puffy, green camouflage jacket.

An estimated 150 law enforcement officers from every local jurisdiction are at the scene, according to Sgt. Tim Curran, Sacramento County Sheriff's Office.

Maple and Ethel Philips elementary schools are on lockdown. Nicholas Elementary, Pacific Elementary, Ethel I. Baker School and Genesis Alternative School are no longer on lockdown, but parents must come pick up their students.

The deputy is a 37-year-old gang detective, according to Sgt. Curran. He is a 10-year veteran of the force.

Police have established a command center at St. Patrick's church located at Franklin Blvd. and 38th Ave.
The area is closed off. I don't live in that part of town, but it's all over the news.

Hopefully they find him and he resists just enough to get filled with bullets.

I just hope he doesn't break in and kill the residents of one of the houses to hide. :x

The puffy camo jacket completes my mental image of this guy.

The article says that he is both dead and in critical condition?

It's probably one of those things where they had the original article, and they added the update that the deputy died without changing the rest of the article.

He's dead. I noticed that too... They need better editors.

I don't live in MLK, Hav. I don't even live near that part of town. Thank Thor.
