Ah, it's about time someone executed-in-effigy the God of Capitalism for his aiding and abetting of the most heinous crimes against humanity, nature, and common sense, and the most cancerous society in the history of the planet!

Considering that the only people who will know the cost and your monthly salary are you and your fiance-to-be, anyone who is stupid enough to believe that deserves to waste the money.

I actually sort of feel sorry for straight men over this one.
Huh? I've seen plenty of gay couples with shiny rings. I remember on the news when Massachusetts decided to allow gay marriage both male and female couples had them.

Whatever, Wong, I can't help you if you don't understand that language can be interpreted entirely different ways depending on tone and body language, both of which, again, can not be observed in a text only format.
You actually think you need to go through someone's posting history to confirm that he does not have a serious general policy of approving the abuse of children?
You're seriously going to stand there and tell me you've never run into one of those people who like to torture and abuse their children attempting to say it 'toughens them up'?
You did not ask for clarification about whether he seriously believed it was good to mentally traumatize children. You asked why he believed this. What, you think I can't just scroll back up this page and see how full of shit you are?

I love the way you accuse me of trying to "save face". Nice case of projection, kiddo.
You're acting just like a fundie of accusing your accuser of what only you are doing.

Notice I simply asked why he grouped it in the good category, I did not expressly say that he believed it. Again, nice attempt.
Fine, kiddo. Go ahead and pretend that any reasonable person could have read his post and said "Hmmm, it looks like he might have a general policy of advocating the abuse of children! I better ask him why he has such a horrible policy!"

It's pretty obvious that you think you can just argue your way out of your own embarrassing stupidity.

Yeah, I don't think there's very many men who would break down in tears, convinced that they weren't loved just because they didn't get a diamond.

I don't see what the problem is with that. If your fiance acts like that, you should count yourself lucky because you got an early warning sign that you chose the wrong girl.

Honestly, I'm looking for a girl who insists that I don't buy her a diamond ring, on account of the fact that DeBeers makes Halliburton look like a neighborhood lemonade stand.

At my last job, one of my coworkers married a graphic designer, so her wedding ring had three stones on it, a ruby, an emerald and a sapphire (RGB).

Everyone got a kick out of it when we saw it. :) And it's way more personal and meaningful than the typical metric of "Oh look at the size of this diamond".
