Mexican boy had a brilliant plan

Post by CaptainChewbacca »

It just didn't work
Boy Glues Hand To Bed To Avoid School

MEXICO CITY -- A 10-year-old Mexican boy dreaded returning to school after Christmas break so much that he glued his hand to his bed.

Sandra Palacios spent nearly two hours Monday morning trying to free her son Diego's hand with water, oil and nail polish remover before calling authorities, police chief Jorge Camacho told The Associated Press from outside the northern city of Monterrey.

"I didn't want to go to school because vacation was so much fun," Reforma newspaper quoted the boy as saying.

Palacios said Diego sneaked into the kitchen in the early morning to get the industrial glue, which he then slathered on his right hand. She didn't hear him get up, but later awoke and found him watching TV with his hand stuck to the bed, she told Mexican newspaper El Universal.

"I don't know why he did it," she told Reforma. "He's a good boy, but mischievous like all kids."

Diego's hand was fine, and paramedics managed to un-stick him in time for class.
You have to admire the committment and brilliant simplicity of the plan. "I can't go to school if I'm stuck to my bed" Obviously, though, he didn't think of bathroom time.

It's like they want to be remembered for the lazy stereotype. They're even innovating in new ways to remain lazy.

Oh those wacky Mexicans.

HEY!! I'm Mexican fucker and... Yeah, I'm pretty damned lazy. Seriously, this kid ain't that bright. If he is glued to the bed, then he can't go out and play. Hell he can't even play video games! Chalk up another one for my "people".

Some would say the kid is thinking smart.

Not me though. I happen to like not pissing my pants when I need the toilet. Cartoon Network is less fun when it involves sitting in your own excrement and starving once you gobbled the last Milky Way within reach.

I didn't think it would be, just as the snooty Limey, smart Asian, fat American and drunk Irishman stereotypes are. But that's stereotypes for you.

Pfft, it's all wrong anyway, the stereotype's typically 'workaholic' (with the corollary 'for little pay').

As for me, I'm half Mexican though really just white, I don't know my father at all. (the Mexican half) A Mexican't if you will. :)

I'd never want to be on a labor crew with Mexicans, they never EVER take breaks.

Wait wait wait...are you saying that TV is lying to me and Mexicans don't laze around in their sombreros and take siestas which last all afternoon? :P

Anyone calling Mexican's lazy has never seen a Mexican roofing crew. It's like watching Circe de Sole with shingles.

Uh, I'm pretty sure the second one does fall into the "flattering" category.

Not so much when you consider that the stereotype is not so much "intelligent" as "nerdy and bookish" or "slavishly devoted to studying".

My stereotype of Englishmen involves Soccer Hooligans. :)
"The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."
