Great game. Defense appeared to be PURELY optional.

What game were you watching? I seem to remember 2 interceptions, a fumble recovery, a dropped interception by Merrimen, 3 key pass deflections -- all late -- AND a pasting of Wayne that jarred loose a big catch on route to 2 consecutive turnovers-on-downs which sealed it. I guess San Diego chose to play D at the right times? :)

Stephen Cooper got 15 tackles too -- monster.

Yessir 'twas indeed. My team is out of it, and I don't really have a favorite in the playoffs, but it's still enjoyable.

However, as I am a Philadelphia fan, I must cheer for the New York Football Giants and hope they take out the smelly, loathsome and utterly hated Cowboys. As things stand now, the Giants and Cowboys are close, early in the 4th: 21-17 Giants. Let us see if Eli can hang on and do what big brother could not do today.
What game were you watching?
Haha, I will claim ignorance, despite what I just said, as I only saw the last quarter. :)

I'll put it this way: when you're facing a future hall of famer quarterback and an offense renowned for efficiency, your expectations are going to be understandably low. And we gave up our fair share of yards in the air.

BUT we completely shut down their ground game (look at the 3 games so far played this week -- Maroney, Grant and Turner all had far better games than their contemporary's on the other team and all the teams that ran it well won), were opportunistic and clamped down when it counted most.

edit: I realize that the Colts weren't coming out with the intention of running it down our throat but neither was New England and look how they ran the ball against Jacksonville on PASSING downs and formations: they caught Jacksonville off guard on several plays and Maroney had a huge game and several big runs. We never gave up easy lanes or easy yards on the ground and I don't care how good you are in the air, being one-dimensional catches up to you especially in a comeback situation when both sides have seen just about all the looks and plays the other side can throw at each other and both sides want it just as bad.

Hehe, Giants slap down the 'boys with a pick. 21-17 Giants.

Guess Tony shouldn't have gone to Mexico.

Anyone see Jerry Jones face at the end of that one? SOOOOOOOOOOO worth it, even if that means She-Li "San Diego Sux" Manning advances.

3 for 1, woulda been 4-0 but I refuse to pick the Pats to win a game.

I think it went a little something like this:

Eli is a mope, but his Giants have smacked down the irritating Cowboys, so I'm happy too.

For some reason I was supporting the Giants, though whenever it was the Cowboys were punting I was cheering for them because their punter is an Australian. Happy with the result though, on principle I hate teams like the Cowboys, and for Romo to crumble in the second half was highly satisfying.

I love the smell of September in the morning. Once we got off at Richmond, walked up to the 'G, and there was no game on. Not one footballer in sight. But that cut grass smell, spring rain...it smelt like victory.

Dynamic. When [Kuznetsov] decided he was going to make a difference, he did it...Like Ovechkin...then you find out - he's with Washington too? You're kidding.

I actually like Romo, but dislike the rest of the organization. Either way, go Packers!

An interesting statistic: since Doug Flutie was benched prior to the Music City Miracle, no team has won a playoff game with Wade Phillips in their organization. The team prior to Dallas to employ Phillips? The Chargers, who are now in the AFC Championship game.

The most beautiful thing about that game was seeing Romo throw the game's first INT with seconds left in the 4th quarter, to seal his fate.

The opportunity was there, they were within 25, but he couldn't hack it and I don't know what else we could say about it other than he choked. I haven't been as satisfied at a Cowboys' loss since the Eagles beat them in December.

God help me, but the Colts loss solved a dilemma.
On one hand as a loyal Hoosier, I wanted the Colts to go all the way.

On the other, I wanted the Pats to go undefeated in order to see Bob Griese and the 1972 Miami Dolphins fucking choke on the champagne they uncork every year when the last undefeated team finally loses a game.

Now that SD eliminated the Colts I can unreservedly root for the Patriots to fucking crush everyone in their way of a perfect record.

Screw the '72 Dolphins.

I'm already on. I hope the Packers beat the snot out of the Patriots in the Super Bowl. :D

Oh wait. Did you mean something else? :D

So it's the Spygate guys against the defense on 'roids. That should be a good game.

Seriously, I wouldn't mind seeing the Chargers do well just to give Norv a break but after all the whining and crying earlier in the season it's tough to get on the Charger's bandwagon.

If they make it to the Super Bowl and they are playing the Giants I'll probably hop on then.

The Cowboy's O-line should take a lot of blame for their loss. After that Giants corner got hurt, Cowboys recievers were running free way the hell down field, but Romo never had time to get it to them. All in all, a satisfying loss because the Cowboys fucked up my fantasy football season.

Don't forget, Rodney Harrison, Mr D-Superman for the Patriots, served a 4 game steroid suspension at the beginning of this year as well. No wonder the Patriots D is still able to play so well at it's age.

My only question to the Cowboys is this; In the second half, why the FUCK wouldn't you throw to Terrel Owens? He is the best receiver in the game right now. (Moss is great, but he isn't quite as all around as T.O., and ask yourself this... How gaudy would T.O.s numbers have been if HE was on the Patriots.)
And especially on the last play. THROW IT TO T.O.! Let him make a play on the ball for fucks sake.

All in all, I am glad the Cowboys lost and am Happy for Eli. I hope San Diego wins against the Pats and NY beats GB, just so Eli can fuck up the Chargers in the SB.

That reason aside, it's going to be a Patriots Packers Superbowl.

Didn't they throw it to TO on that last play?

Romo didn't throw it to T.O. because Romo folded like a cheap tent in the second half, so he got flustered and lost his ability to read the field. There was a dramatic difference between first-half Romo and second-half Romo. Or perhaps I should say Romeo.

You can chalk it up to whatever you want: NY's defensive line harassing him, the Jessica Simpson factor, the possibility that he simply doesn't handle playoff pressure well, who knows?

It was pretty strange seeing clips of T.O. talking about how loyal he is to his quarterback and how he has always gotten along well with quarterbacks. WTF?

Somehow, I don't see T.O. fitting in too well with the Patriots' team first system. The guy's a fist class egomaniac and attention whore.

Yup. And that is the EXACT same argument everyone was making against Randy Moss.
