Dumb kid has wild party, charged $20,000 call-out fee

Post by Lusankya »

Video

Check out the 9RAW video as well. It's quite hilarious.

Some of his classic quotes:

Reporter: So how did it all start?
Emo kid: I dunno. I was wasted.

Reporter: So what do you think your parents will say?
Emo kid: I don't think they'll find out.

THE parents of a teenager who hosted a raucous house party in Narre Warren on Saturday night have demanded their son apologise but the 16-year-old was unrepentant yesterday, saying he had done nothing wrong.

In fact, Corey went one step better yesterday. "Best party ever, that's what everyone's saying," was his verdict.

When asked by the Nine Network what advice he had for teenagers considering throwing a party while parents were away, he said: "Get me to do it for you."

Steve and Jo Delaney cut short their Gold Coast holiday after a party at their house attracted up to 500 alcohol-charged youths — who damaged police cars with bottles and had to be dispersed with the help of a police helicopter.

Steve Delaney questioned if he could trust Corey any more. "Horrified. (I) just can't believe what's happened. Our son has gone totally behind our back," he told Channel Seven. "So embarrassed for our neighbourhood. Just can't believe what they must have gone through."

He said his son pulled out of the family trip at the last minute, saying he had to work.

Ms Delaney said: "I can't believe that Corey would do this to us to start with. Honestly, he must have planned the party."

The teenager said yesterday he had ignored his parents' phone calls and would not be at home when they returned. It could get worse for Corey with Chief Commissioner Christine Nixon saying the police were considering billing him up to $20,000 for the intervention.

Neighbours called police after the number of teenagers, attracted via text messages, the internet and email, swelled to 500. Ms Nixon said if Corey did not pay, the community in effect would pay for his irresponsibility.

Up to 30 police attended the party in Galloway Drive along with dog squads, transit police, divisional vans and a critical incident response team.

You have to love the Today Tonight angle - their numbers were increased by THAT BLOODY EMAIL NONSENSE! :)

Honestly this doesn't surprise me in the least. I imagine this is only newsworthly because it's '500' instead of '200' teenagers. I think it's just awesome how the guy is a complete cockface about it - what a charmer. :)

At least he is honest about it. I hate when shit like this happens and people start apologizing all over the place, when you know they aren't sorry for what they did, but just that they got caught.

That was the 7.30 Report's angle as well. The report went straight from dumb-ass emo kid throws wild party to "O Noez! ZOMG Teh internets!"

... completely ignoring the fact that the biggest contributing factors were a) the kid's a complete and utter douche, and b) his parents were up in bloody QUEENSLAND when all this was going down. I mean, seriously, if my kid ever even thought about buying a dumb-ass jacket like the one he was wearing in the news, I'd never let him out of my sight, because he's clearly a grade-A retard.

Look at his stupid hair and his stupid jacket. He's definitely got a bit of emo in him.

He gave me 'my parents are rich but I hunt around opshops for 'hip' and 'funky' clothes because I'm a wannabe hipster' vibe from that, actually. I know heaps of girls like that.

If the kid's the type to throw a huge-ass house party behind his parents' back, what were they doing trusting him at home? Surely this wasn't the first time he'd ever done anything seriously untrustworthy.

Eh, I still think he's emo, but since arguing over whether or not he's emo is one of the most pointless thread hijacks ever, let's just agree to disagree here. Or we could take it to testing.

Oh come on, he suddenly declared he couldn't go on a family trip because he had to work!

It was the PERFECT CRIME. :)

His hair is all blonde. Not emo. His jacket owes more to hip-hop then it does emo. Everyone with pretensions of cool, from emo to arts-law, wears sunglasses like that. His jeans are very un-emo. Then look at his mates. Beaters and trucker caps? Hella not emo.

That kid is not emo. Emo kids dont run around shirtless like that, have blonde hair, or act so confident and nonchalant. Ever. An emo kid never would have thrown a party like that in the first place.

Fine! I was wrong. I retract my previous "emo" statement. Now if a mod would kindly change the thread title, so we can forget about all of this...

Emoness is not the issue - we have to ban telephones to prevent teenagers from gathering together in future! :D

It's sad that you can't know more about the family in stories like this (as they're always hopelessly one-sided bullshit) as this doesn't seem that unusual.

Why do they say the police "attended the party"? "Attended to" might make sense but they're making it sound like the cops were part of the party.

What makes you think they know what kind of kid he is? A lot of parents know their coworkers much better than they know their kids.

I take it Australian cops charge the responsible party, i.e., the perps, for the expenses incurred when they go bust the perps' asses? (Sounds like something the US should implement.)
Please do not make Americans fight giant monsters.

Those gun nuts do not understand the meaning of "overkill," and will simply use weapon after weapon of mass destruction (WMD) until the monster is dead, or until they run out of weapons.

They have more WMD than there are monsters for us to fight. (More insanity here.)

I dunno. It's nothing I've heard of before. I think that in this case, the Police Commissioner just got pissed off and decided to Make An Example Of Him.

He's got a 6 pack. Emo kids don't work out that much.

Also, reporter lady was pretty hot (typical Aussie, I suppose? ;))

The kid's a little shit head, and that's why the Police are dropping the hammer on him. They probably think that if they can get this kid in shit up to his eyeballs, other kids will think twice before they try the same shit.

If they could get him to man up and take his medicine like a man, it'd work. He seems to be taking the perfect approach to it to avoid any consequences, though.

If possible, I'd want the police to work this out with the parents: The kid obviously has a job, and he's sixteen. Keep him working, take *all* his earnings and put it towards paying off that 20,000. Once he's eighteen, he should only have, what, 15,000 to pay off?

Yeah, I wish. Not to jump to conclusions, but I'm guessing this little shit will be grounded for a few months, not have to pay a cent, and go through college continuing to pull shit, if not quite at this level of assholery, at least in the same vein.

Well, he's making a fortune now selling his story to all the tabloids.

Cunt.

The boy does need to pay police expenses. Why? Because he was stupid enough to post an open invite on MySpace. Seriously. Using MySpace? What a tard.

I'd only heard about this on radio news, not seen images. What a complete and total fuck head. I hope Nixon goes to town on him. I hope he fails to gain entrance to university and I hope his parents give no reprieve, and I hope that it takes him ten years to pull his life together to become a useful member of society so that he'll appreciate the notion of consequences. But I think I'm asking too much.

Maybe someone should point out that if they were really "that cool" and "rebellious" it wouldn't have taken only less than a tenth of the numbers of police as there were people to get them running with their tails between their legs.

From the sounds of things, I'm not quite sure what I'd do if I were in the place of his parents. They could ground him -- and they probably will -- but I suspect that he'd just ignore the restrictions and live with all of the people who now think he's cool. They can't realistically just keep him locked in the house until he's 18, and with his "fuck you" attitude he'll just do whatever he pleases, as long as he's able to do so.

The best way I can think of to turn his brain onto reality would be to find some laws he's broken in the process of his stunt, and have him arrested for it.
73% of all statistics are made up, including this one.

I'm waiting as fast as I can.
