Star Trek: Daedalus, Episode 2: "Strange New World"

10/16/2162

"OKAY, EVERYBODY OUT NOW!"

The stasis booths began to open and swing out as the Daedalus crew suddenly had time continue, almost uninterruptingly for them.

Thrallen got out, turning his head around quickly, looking cautious.

"Morning Thrallen. How was it?"

Thrallen recognised the voice of Ronald Maxwell Fielding.

"...Instantaneous." He said.

"Good. It must have been great for you, I was stuck constantly monitoring
the engines and course for six months."

"It was... Instantaneous." Thrallen said, after a moment of deep thought.

"Good morning, Commander. Good to see you up and about." Said Makoto Takashi,
as the energetic Japanese man met Daniel Macintyre, and the tall, black science officer greeted him that morning.

"Good to see you too, sir." Said Daniel, smiling.

"I sincerely hope that there's a Class M planet at this destination."

"Hopefully."

They got into a turbolift with Paul Larson, Chang Lee, and Arinda Asephas.

When they arrived and took their stations on the bridge, Takashi asked "Daniel, how's the star?"

Daniel paused, looking into his scanner scope, and said "Alpha Capricus, Class F, 11 planets, Classes D, H... And M."

A pause. "That's great news. And the others?"

"All Class D or J. Nothing exciting."

"Very well. Arinda, Let the crew know that at 0800 hours, there will be a landing party of six, composed of myself, Commander Macintyre, Lieutenant Macguyver, Spacer Haggarty, Ensign Douglas, and Lieutenant Commander Fielding."

"Aye, sir."

Takashi looked at his armrest and punched a button. The huge, blocky, multi-segmented reader tube lit up to a shade of bright green.

After pressing a few more buttons, Takashi said "Captain's log, Stardate... 001.1, the Daedalus has arrived at it's first destination, Alpha Capricus, and my Science Officer has reported a single Class M planet, which we will examine shortly with a full landing party. The crew must surely be excited, for now, we are at the entrance to the final frontier. I hope to report our findings later, Makoto out."

Canon and Continuity are not one and the same.

Many of the funniest moments come from RPG sessions.

Why be against "probably?" It's just a word.

You've got the wrong forum.

I'm punting this over to fanfic.

I thought I DID move to fanfics first.

Thanks for moving it.

Maybe if we see more of it. This is less than a page as it is. I'm not saying you have to write out a huge manifesto for each paragraph but how about something that takes longer than three or four minutes to read?
"If it's true that our species is alone in the universe, then I'd have to say that the universe aimed rather low and settled for very little."
-George Carlin (1937-2008)

"Have some of you Americans actually seen Football? Of course there are 0-0 draws but that doesn't make them any less exciting."
-Dr Roberts, with quite possibly the dumbest thing ever said in 10 years of SDNet.
