The Nephilim built the Pyramids!!! or Fundie Dumbshits.

Post by RIPP_n_WIPE »

Every now and then I like to browse the net for the CRAZIEST fundamentalists. I get gems once in a while that are exceedingly funny, especially when one is looking at authorship. While their books aren't popular (well with the mainstream ie intelligent people) they still provide a good laugh even if one only reads a preview.

The book I saw online today was Nephilim and the Pyramid: Nephilim and the Pyramid of the Apocalypse. An excerpt from google book search give a pretty good Idea of what the book is about. The idea that the Nephilim, the angelic-human hybrid race that caused god to bring about the flood, created the pyramids using super advanced knowledge that is most likely lost today.

The amazon review are the best.
This book had a few earlier reviews that left me feeling skeptical before buying and reading it myself. Now that I have read it I feel it is a great tool for showing what very could have happened in our Earths history.
The author did a very good job of explaining the content and left me with no questions about it. I personally believe what he researched and authored is very likely the truth. It gave me the "proof" of knowing that our world was indeed created by an awesome God. The fallen angels who corrupted Gods perfect creation by breeding the half man-half angel "Nephilim" really makes it all come together.
The last part of the book emphasizes a relationship with our creator God (Yeshua) aka. Jesus. That is the best part. Only when we recognise that we ourselves are corrupt in the heart and rebel against God, do we finally understand the need for a savior (Jesus). The good part is that what he did on the cross paid for all our rebellious sin. All we have to do is accept it for ourselves freely.
I'd honestly suggest reading more reviews I personally love the rational fellows review.
The rapture cult promoting Patrick Heron may be charming on radio, but it is a watered down rehash of much of Dr. Gene Scott's work and others, who published phenomonal information on the Great Pyramid 20 years ago and more. A coincidence? Further, the writing style is immature and needs editing--drop the Nephilim in and the end times and try for the almighty American "Christian" end times dollar. A popular fad as of late--a biased book toward pet fundamentalist doctrines of Heron. Preaches to the choir, won't bring in mainstream readers.

I am the hammer, I am the right hand of my Lord. The instrument of His will and the gauntlet about His fist. The tip of His spear, the edge of His sword. I am His wrath just as he is my shield. I am the bane of His foes and the woe of the treacherous. I am the end.

I love how it completely misses the fact that the Nephilim were descendants of angels, period, no "fallen" mentioned...ah well, who expects a fundamentalist, Bible-thumping asshole to be an actual Bible scholar?

If the Nephilim really did build the pyramids, one would think the extensive Egyptian records would have made mention of these creatures.

If magical beings really built the pyramids, I would think they'd build something more impressive than a glorified rock-pile with a tunnel and antechamber in it. The Roman Coliseum was a far more impressive structure than the pyramids from the standpoint of ancient engineering. It required real engineering ability, whereas the pyramids were an exercise in logistics more than engineering.

You can always tell someone doesn't know shit about engineering when he thinks that the pyramids were more impressive than the coliseum simply by virtue of being bigger. The coliseum was an actual functional structure, built with engineered materials. It must have required far more planning and design than the pyramids.

A pyramid is not fundamentally conceptually different from a mound of dirt; building some shit with a much wider base of support than the entire rest of the structure and with basically no internal space or useful purpose is not 'amazing'. Of course my philosophy teacher in High School actually believed the aliens and the pyramids bullshit and tried to argue that engineers couldn't see how it was done and therefore human couldn't do it.

Heh, heh. I once had someone pull a the OH YEAH, DISPROVE THIS!!! on me about the involvement of a "higher power" in the pyramids. As an architectural designer, I have some expertise in the subject matter, so I was an obvious target for his rantings around the bar. (I later found out he was a YEC, so I was treated to my first exposure to the "vapor canopy" idea from this guy, too).

One of his pieces of "amazing incontrovertible proof" was that the dimensions of the base of the pyramids are (supposedly) whole number ratios of Pi. Apparently the guy had never heard of a surveyor's wheel, a piece of technology that even primitive bronze age people would have had.

Khufu's pyramid was more than 2500 years old when the Roman Coliseum was built; just because they're both "ancient" doesn't mean they're comparably so, they're not even remotely close.

By the mud brick, lintel and post standards of 2500 BC, the Great Pyramid with it's weight displacing cantilevered vault over the King's Chamber was a fucking space shuttle.

By the standards of Roman architecture and engineering, the Pyramids were impressive for their size only.

By the standards of our time, The Coliseum is barely a clever stack of bricks, and significantly less time seperates us from The Coliseum than seperated it from The Pyramids.

I don't know who's comparing The Coliseum and The Pyramids, but doing so doesn't make any sense. Rome was vastly more advanced than Old Kingdom Egypt.

When it comes to the two, apples and oranges hardly covers it.

Sometimes, they just flat-out lie. I remember running into one guy who said that the pyramids had equal side dimensions, to within an accuracy of a thousandth of an inch. He just looked at me blankly when I pointed out that it's impossible to measure their dimensions to such accuracy because the surfaces are all eroded and uneven.

And yet, you never hear anyone wax poetic about the impossibility of building the Coliseum without modern technology, even though it's indisputably far more advanced. People seriously claim that you would need modern equipment to build the Pyramids.

The reason is simply that the Romans left too many records for us to find. We know too much about how clever and resourceful and advanced they were. But the ancient pyramids are shrouded in mystery, with precious little documentation of the circumstances surrounding their construction. In vagueness lies opportunity for pseudoscientific bullshit.

Didn't a group of egyptologists build their own pyramid using students several year back to show how it was done?

The sad thing is, the Egyptians built many things that were more structurally innovative than the pyramids - even though the logistics in those was certainly impressive. Various obelisks, and some rather massive, and sprawling temples, not to mention elaborate temples cut into the side of cliffs to varying degrees. Did aliens build Karnak too? Oh wait, that's recent enough that there's rather more records on how it was constructed...

Does anyone have an idea where one might find a library with this kind of book?

There are some truly huge medieval castles and cathedrals scattered around Europe which would completely stump Egyptian designers, which are vastly more involved (especially gothic cathedrals, with their intricate, mutually supporting archs) than the Pyramids. I think it will be hilarious to ask another one of those guys if he thinks that Notre Damme was built by aliens, too, and why he thinks it wasn't. After all, look at those huge towers!

I always wonder, though - if aliens came down to earth to help us build shit, why would they construct tombs for primitive kings?

If we came to a primitive planet, what would we build?

Landing sites, bases, power plant, mines and beacons, i'd wager, not oversized fucking tombstones.

Oh there's the rub. Usually the idiots who think they were built by aliens also think that they are beacons or landing sites, and that the tombs are lies or cover-up conspiracies.

Uh, yeah. Landing beacons...made out of limestone...

Is there a reason aliens capable of FTL travel would be unable to land in any place they wanted to, and use radio for ILS?

Ah, but what am I thinking. They're conspiracy nutters, after all.

Yup, because when we make a landing beacon for an airport or such, the first thing we do is dump 5 million tonnes of rock on the runway.

Indeed. They come billions of miles from another star and, having no way to land their ships, enslave the populace over a period of DECADES to build stone bases to land on. Stupidest. Aliens. Ever.

I find the claim that the pyramids were landing sites (rather than beacons) hillarious. Landing sites are usually flat for a reason.

Why would they build landing sites when they have huge flat deserts right next to the goddamned Nile? And wouldn't limestone be crushed under the weight of the spaceships, anyway?
A Government founded upon justice, and recognizing the equal rights of all men; claiming higher authority for existence, or sanction for its laws, that nature, reason, and the regularly ascertained will of the people; steadily refusing to put its sword and purse in the service of any religious creed or family is a standing offense to most of the Governments of the world, and to some narrow and bigoted people among ourselves.
