A Toronto doctor accused of visiting a patient's home for sex on two different occasions shocked her by waiting naked in bed for her, the alleged victim told a disciplinary hearing yesterday.
The 37-year-old woman, whose identity is protected by a publication ban, testified Dr. Joseph Ka-Hoi Wong suggested he pay a visit to her downtown apartment for a checkup the day after she had a cosmetic surgery in January 2003. When Wong arrived he was very upset because the woman had paged him several times.
"I was so nervous," she testified. "He was so mad, he was very intimidating."
She said she went into the washroom to collect herself and when she came out, Wong was lying in her bed covered only in a blanket.
"I was totally shocked," she told the five-member panel of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. "I didn't know what to do."
Wong got out of the bed and walked over to her where he held her hand.
"He said, 'I've been waiting for this for so long'," she recounted. "Then he said he has been waiting his whole life to meet me, have sex with me ... He said 'I'll give you a lot of fun.'"
He then undressed her and took her back to bed where, she said, Wong fondled her, put on a condom and the two had sex "for a couple of minutes." But she said she refused his desire for anal sex.
Two days after the sexual encounter, Wong called her and said he wanted to apologize. But when he arrived he began undressing her. When she refused his insistence on anal sex, they then had "normal" sex, she testified.
Wong has pleaded not guilty to sexual assault.

It was cosmetic surgery. They didn't say exactly what type so it's hard to say how extensive it was, but it's somewhat beside the point.
Cosmetic or not, she was still already impaired. More than likely, she had some level of bruising and probably stitches, but you are correct it is beside the point.

Forcing guys like this to take "ethics classes" always makes me laugh. As if he didn't know what he was doing was wrong and a simple 2 week refresher in ethics will make him and upstanding member of the community.

I'm not really sure if I buy this "intimidation" charge...I don't care if you're a doctor. Would this REALLY be enough to overpower your ability to say no? She's a grown woman for Christ's sake. She couldn't have slapped him? Demanded he get out? Called the police? I mean really, she should hold SOME responsibility for putting out.
