I'd say no, it doesn't give me any problems, and it does make you... recognisable

I admit it is annoyingly large to me. Could you reduce its size by half in each dimension without losing effect?

I think you should get rid of it. It makes me drag my cursor all the way over to the side every time you post even a few words, and then scroll down. I'm too lazy to enjoy doing that, even though it does look marginally cool. :D
