For the first time in the Russian (as opposed to Soviet) history, the Army will show up in force for this year's Victory parade...

They plan to show off the total of around 200 vehicles and aircraft, from land forces, air forces, strategic forces and airborne forces branches. Things to expect are: T-90 MBTs, BMP-3 IFVs, BTR-80 APCs, Iskander tactical missile launchers, Smerch MRLS, Msta SPGs, Buk SPSAMs, 4 Topol-M ICBM launchers, BMD-4 ABIFV, Sprut ABAFV, as well as 32 planes and helicopters, including they say Tu-160.

Ground vehicles will be apparently from Tamanskaya MRD.

Oh boy! This will be pretty cool to watch on CNN. As long as the volume is turned down of course...otherwise they'll bring in that douche Glen Beck or someone and just talk and talk about how Russia should be our 'next target' or something silly like that.

Heh, I hope they can keep it going for a few years, I'd like to see it in person at least once.

You have military parades too. You just tend to hold them in other peoples' countries, without their permission.

Actually we DO have military parades. Last one though was in 1992 in Washington DC, celebrating Desert Storm Victory. I still have the photographs from the demos they had downtown at the time.
